A lot of internet marketing professionals never take a holiday. They are afraid that they’ll come back to chaos or worse.
The whole point of being in business for yourself is being able to have the freedom to do what you want, isn’t it?
When you get started on an entrepreneurial journey, you have plans and hopes that include holidays and financial freedom. But then when you start to reach your goals, many of you get so involved in the day to day running of your Online Business that you become fearful of taking any time away from it. This can and will lead to burnout.
Holidays Exist For A Reason!
Companies give their employees time to rejuvenate and regenerate and this will result in increased productivity and better morale. The same applies to your own Online Business.
If you’re afraid to walk away because you’re afraid it will fall apart, you need to take measures to improve your business model so that it can, on occasion, run on autopilot.
Here Are Some Tips…
- Implement an autoresponder system that walks new prospects through a sales process. This can help you bring in more sales automatically so that while you’re away, you’re still earning.
- Implement a support ticket system. This can help you track your customer queries and manage them in an automated fashion
- Get some help. If you’re busy and profitable, you might be ready for some help. Hire a virtual assistant, outsource customer service, or put a team together, so that you can have people running aspects of the operations side of your Online Business while you enjoy some of the fruits of your labour.
- Utilise an out-of-office assistant on your e-mail. While you want customers to feel like you’re taking good care of them, even the most demanding customer will understand that you need to have a “life”. Your out of office response will tell people how long you’ll be away and in some cases can refer them to an alternate means of getting assistance (such as your assistant)
- While away you can make yourself somewhat available so that you can take care of important things, but make sure that you do actually get to enjoy your time away.
A working holiday can be enjoyable, but at times it really does pay off to go completely acoustic (a.k.a: unplugged) in your life.
