When trying to make money online, who you know can often impact your success levels. If you have online friendships, make the most of them! Here are some things you can do:

  1. Ask for a blogroll exchange. You link to them, they link to you.
  2. Ask for Stumbles, Diggs, etc. when you write a great post.
  3. Consider doing a joint venture where you work together to promote a product and split profits.
  4. Ask them to Tweet about you on Twitter. Re-tweeting your tweets or telling people you’re a great person to follow can be helpful.
  5. Ask for a testimonial for your sales page  and / or review of your product on their site linking back to your site.

As you can see there are a lot of things your online friends can do for you. They can also share tips and advice and be a sounding board for you at times as well. Don’t forget to reciprocate and do things for them as well. Through mutual back scratching with online friends we can all be more successful.  The more online friendships you have, the better! Need to make more online friends? We’ll talk about that tomorrow!

Have a most outstanding day.

Writing Tips - Be A Better Article Marketer

article marketing tipsHow do you get to be a better article marketer? Here are some tips for you.  Article marketers write articles to get people interested in their product. When you write, you need to pique interest and convince the reader to follow your call to action.  Here are a few tips for you:

Solve a problem

If your headline tells a browsing reader that your article solves a problem for someone, they’ll be eager to read your article. Do what you say you’ll do by writing content that matches the headline.

Follow a pro

If you’re in the beginning stages of article marketing, find a guru to follow and mimic what they do.  Don’t plagiarise, of course but look at their strategies and the way they write not just their headlines and copy but the way they summarise and how they outline their resources box or byline.  If you don’t know how to find a guru, check out a site like www.ezinearticles.com and read lots of articles in your niche. When you find a style you like, read everything you can by that author and dissect their articles to find out why they’re compelling and how you can learn from the writing style.

The power of social marketing

Once the article is out there, use some social marketing tools to help it go viral.  Ping it, blog about it, microblog about it, Digg it, Stumble it and see your sales soar.

IM Tool Of The Day: AddThis!

free IM toolsHere at www.seanseo.com we like to tell you about tools we think you’ll find useful.  The AddThis tool is fantastic and a wonderful tool for any blog.  Not only can it help you with traffic and social bookmarking but it’s aesthetically pleasing as well.

Social marketing is important but so is blog design and this tool is clean looking and definitely an asset to any blog because it makes it simple for people to help you spread the word about your posts.

What is AddThis?

AddThis gives you a bit of code to add to your site design that allows each post to have a section at the bottom with a list of social bookmarking sites.  When visitors like your post, they can click one of their favourite social bookmarking tools directly below the post to spread the word.  Tools include: FaceBook, MySpace, Delicious, Digg and others. If you look below each of our posts here you can see that you can ad us to your Technorati Favourites, Stumble us, etc.

How Much Does it Cost?

AddThis  doesn’t cost a thing and it’s easy to install on your site. If people use a specific tool on a regular basis and see the button to manually add that on the bottom of your post, they’ll be much more likely to do so. That little logo will remind them that they can do it with just a few clicks and making it as easy as possible for people to tell the world how useful your post is will increase your exposure and your SEO value.

In Praise Of Online Networking Clubs

networkingOne thing an internet marketer can definitely use more of is friends.  Friends can help you be more successful. Online friends that you network with can do a lot for you. You can have a sort of symbiotic relationship that does well for you both.  Beyond regular brainstorming sessions and getting insider secrets and leads about the next greatest money making options, there is also the potential for collaborative projects and scratching one another’s backs by social networking  for one another. Here are some tips:

Digg and Stumble Club

Follow your friends’ friend feeds and when they post something new, Tweet, Plurk, Stumble, Digg or Buzz it for them.  This can make a great difference in traffic levels and they will likely reciprocate which can bring you traffic and new visitors.

Blog Commenting

When your online friends comment on your blog, return the favour. If they write a great post, Digg it. Not only will you get a link but your witty and charming comment could bring you new customers as well.  You can have symbiotic online friendships that can make a great different in your social marketing efforts!

Not only can you find a few friends to do this with, consider making it a regular effort. There are networking clubs and social networking circles all over the web that can help one another by taking turns giving link love, guest posting, social bookmarking and more.

Can’t find a social networking club in your niche? Why not start your own? Tomorrow we’ll explore how to do it.

Social networking can make a huge difference in your success online but there is a bit of a fine line between marketing or networking and spamming.  Let’s look at some examples:

E-mail Marketing

networkingMarketers build e-mail lists and market selectively. Spamming would include many tactics such as anonymous email blasts, ignoring those who try to opt out or selling lists. If you want to build an e-mail list, consider giving away something for free, having a valuable newsletter or doing something else to build a list of people who are likely going to be interested in what you’re selling.

Article Marketing

Valuable articles will give the reader some information and may direct them some place they can go to in order to find out more information. They don’t generally contain affiliate links and they do provide value. If you try to spam through article marketing you probably won’t get very far because most e-zine sites have requirements and terms of service that prohibit spam.

Blogging or Splogging

While it’s perfectly fine to do advertising on your blog, you want valuable information there as well otherwise it’s considered a splog (spam blog) and you won’t have too many repeat visitors. Visitors who do arrive probably won’t buy anything or return again. Give people value and you’ll have more chances of making sales and having them do some of your marketing for you through social bookmarking.

Social Media: Don’t Be One Sided

If you’re constantly asking people on social networking tools and forums to Digg or Stumble your entry but never do it in return and never participate in discussions in a reciprocal way, eventually everyone will just ignore you. Reciprocate a little in your online marketing efforts and you’ll find a bit difference in how people receive you.
