2) Eye popping titles. Titles and lots of white space work best for online users. Break your text into small paragraphs instead of one long and continuous block of text. Look at the way this page that you are reading right now  is structured. You’ll see plenty of white space and headings to help your eyes quickly ascertain that there’s relevant info here. It’ll help catch eyes of visitors and help you with search engine relevancy as well.

3) Backlinks.  Get backlinks to your site. Visit blogs and forums and plug your site (without spamming of course) and do it on a regular basis so that you are continuously building relevancy on your site which can help you keep and improve your page rankings in the search engines.

In short, SEO trends can help you but while trends will come and go quality lasts forever and quality copy can convert more customers than SEO ever will.
