MySpace is one of the most popular tools online for socialising. It’s got some great potential for Social  Networking, marketing and monetisation for internet marketers!

What Is MySpace And How Can You Make Money With It?

Social Networking For ProfitThis website is an online Social Networking community that offers free spaces for people to connect with others, post their bio, share information, blog, and network.

There are some great possibilities for internet marketers who want to connect with people with specific interests or within a specific demographic. Those who spend time on the site often spend a lot of time on it.

By conversing with people, you can build relationships with them. And, you can improve the search engine optimisation of your website, bringing you more traffic and more potential customers. How do you do this?

Here Are Some Tips:

  • Add people to your friends’ list. By looking through the member list, you can find people that could be good potential customers.
  • Visit people’s pages. Say “Hi”, wish them a “Happy Birthday” (MySpace will tell you when your connections have a birthday), and check out what they share with you and then comment on it.
  • Post status updates about you. You can put links here that can direct people to your online projects as well.
  • Participate in MySpace groups which can be a great place to network.
  • Post blogs on MySpace blogs. This is a great way to direct “friends” to your blog posts on other sites as well as provide “link love” for yourself.

myspaceEvery link that points to your website is considered a vote for your site’s popularity which can bring you more traffic so utilising MySpace for link building can be a very wise thing to do (as part of your overall off-page SEO strategy).

MySpace also offers advertising that can have your ads seen by hundreds of thousands of potential customers. This could prove very beneficial for you!

Social Networking is a very good idea for anyone in internet marketing. Whether you’re an accomplished internet marketer who uses a friends list to build brand recognition, SEO, and keep in contact with your customers, or you are a new marketer who wants to build your profile and make some connections, this is one of the many free online tools that can help you.

Have a most outstanding day.

I am very interested in looking into Myspace.
Is it for the younger set or is that just hype? I know a lot of artists get started on Myspace before they get discovered. In fact they get discovered because of Myspace.

Are there tools to link Myspace with facebook? That would be cool

Hi Sean,

I’ve never used MySpace but it’s another networking site I could use; especially since I’m trying to set up a music site.

Hi Sean,

somehow Myspace was always a music site for me. I never thought about monetizing my social networking with myspace. I guess i will have to take a closer look at what it offers and how I can use it to my advantage.

My Niece set up a myspace account for me years ago but I have never used it…doh…mind you I had only just got my first computer and couldn’t even send an email back then hehe Great point about the link love and scouring through to find ‘potential’ customers. As I have been following through your blogs there has been a vast amount of information, so much so that I will have to go back through it all again because alot would not have gone in

I have a MySpace account, opened before Facebook – can you remember life before Facebook?! – and never saw it’s potential anywhere close to what Sean has. Now I know how to monetise my social networking and will revisit MySpace to do so. I do plan to leave Facebook as more of a personal social network site with a few business links but MySpace can be something else entirely.
