Free IM Tool: FriendFeed

Friendfeed is a great free im tool that you can use to make social marketing  easier on yourself as well as more effective. Whether people you want to network with are on FriendFeed or are hanging out in another online water cooler, they can see what you want them to see. Not only does FriendFeed encompass microblogging but it shares a whole lot more.

Make Social Marketing Easier

Who wants to log into a bunch of different services to share your updates? With FriendFeed you can do it all from one place.  Input the services you want it to update and it can do that for you in one update. People can see you on FF but they can also see you on other places that FF does the updating to.

Show People More Stuff

Friendfeed users don’t just see your status, they can also see various other things you’re doing.  When you add other services, it shows people your activity so if you Digg a blog post, people on FriendFeed can see that. If you’ve Stumbled a page, they can see it too. In fact, if you add your blogs to this tool, they can see when you’ve posted a new post as well.

You can update from the site or from a bookmarklet that’s added to your browser and you can get notifications on instant messaging of new activity on FriendFeed if that’s what you want.

Another great thing about this tool is it allows you to create separate lists for your personal and business contacts and it sends you summary e-mails if you choose so you don’t have to worry about missing things in your stream when you’re away from your computer (or have turned off your mobile notifications).

Have a most outstanding day.

Hi Sean,

I use Friendfeed and I find it really great for sharing my updates. I have the bookmarklet in my toolbar but I actually don’t really use it. I forget that it’s there.

I didn’t know I could add my blog to it though. I’m going to have to do this.

You can’t complain with free! And if it can make social marketing easier it’s definitely worth a look!
