I have decided that I am going to do a combination of what I know (I can write the content), what I sort of know - I can outsource some of the content, and a good money making niche where I don't really know anything - content mainly outsourced - but at the same time I am learning something new and improving myself and my knowledge.

My biggest mistake when I started my online adventure was to start with something I only knew a little about, only now I am seeing that was the wrong way to start.

I am now doing what I do know and love even though it is a huge market.

Hi Sean

This is very solid advice, and a sensible way to start Internet Marketing is to go with what you know.
The reason being is that you will have knowledge on your chosen subject and a passion behind it to drive it. You will start seeing results a lot sooner than someone who has no idea what product to sell or promote.

I think once you have successfully started to attract money from your first efforts you can afford to try something else that is different like affiliate marketing as an example.

As you try different areas of online marketing, your confidence will grow and so too your knowledge base.

Using your passion is definitely a great basis for IM, as you have the knowledge and also the interest to learn more and more about it - and pass it on. On the other hand, if you are learning something new you can create a blog and let your readers participate in your development. And in your experience with products. Not a bad idea either I think :)

I'd agree with Jazz. I would stick at my passion for quite a while.
I suppose if I could find related things to that which I could learn about that would be ideal. Would give more choices as to the products I could offer.

I'm not so much interested in making a million, more just a comfortable living which would allow a lifestyle to do what I want to.
