Tips For Marketing With Squidoo Lenses

squidoo marketingMarketing with free online tools is a great idea.  How can you make the most of free tools like Squidoo?  Here are some tips to help you!

A Picture: Worth 1000 Words

Put pictures on your lenses.  Not just at the top either, put a picture into each module. If you don’t have any pictures in mind, search sxc.hu for royalty free pictures.  Don’t forget to give your pictures a file name that utilises SEO. It can help!

Modules

Instead of using one block of text to write an article promoting an affiliate program, write lots of modules instead.  This way, you can have a bolded headline for each which will optimize for SEO and provide the scannability factor online users look for when browsing.

Interactivity

Add some polls, make some lists and use some of the other features in Squidoo that make your lens look different. How about ending your text with an open ended question? Then, have a guestbook and converse with your visitors on that guestbook.

Social Networking

Use your social networking skills to promote your lens.  Ping it, microblog about it, link to it in other sites of yours and write a few articles for article directories and link to your Squidoo lens in the bio box.  You can even put affiliate codes directly in a Squidoo list of links to send people directly to your hoplink.

Have a most outstanding day.

Hi Sean,

Yes, I’ve already discovered how great Squidoo lenses are. They’re really easy to set up and I find I can be a lot more creative with them than I can with my main site. I tend to take my main site a little more seriously and maybe that’s my problem. :)

Hi Sean

I have setup a lens but haven’t really done anything with it. I will get onto that task.

I didn’t realize you could do all that stuff with it.

I like Squidoo, because it is reallly easy to put a page together and to alter it. I am working on my second one at the moment …

Hi Sean,
I am very impressed with Squidoo and I recommend it to my friends. I am in the process of creating a lens and I am aware that Squidoo is rated favourably with Google.

People have created really amazing Squidoo lenses and so much can be done to create a lens as you have outlined in this article. I’m grateful you helped me become aware that this site is available.

Hi Sean

I left my Squidoo lens abandoned in some ocean far away last year. After reading all these great reviews and the tips I really want to go fish it up and breathe new life into it.

I didn’t realise Squidoo was so versatile and so popular. I think I can really have some fun with it now and go and have a look at what other people are doing on Squidoo. Thankyou.

Hi Elly,

It won’t be hard to breathe new life into your Squidoo Lens. They’ve got a lot of new modules that make it really easy to build your Lens any way you want to.

The best thing about Squidoo is that it’s really quick and easy to set up.

Yes, apparently it is so popular Elly – I wish it wasn’t then that would be one less thing to attend to!

However, as Sean has said, we need to focus well on a few (75%) and occasionally on others (25%) – the thing is which ones for the 75%! I have a sneaking suspicion that Squiddo is one of them!

Thank you

I’ve never tried marketing with Squidoo lenses, but seeing the enthusiasm expressed by Jazz, Gee, Rennee and Jill I have to put this on my Priority List. The priority list is the one that ranks above the ToDo list. What was it Sean was saying about Time Management somewhere on the blog?

Hi Sean,

Not sure if I am allowed here? But thanks I’m learning something which I’ve never known before.

Marketing with Squidoo Lenses is something I have to study and know more.

Thanks again.

I went in and started playing with Squidoo last month and really enjoyed how easy it was to do things (once I had worked out out :-) ). I even encouraged my son to start his own Lens which he did on Pokemon. My plan is to build this huge empire of lenses which will be awesome!……Now to find the time to do lots!
