It takes time to build links, get found in search engines, and build credibility online. Results rarely happen overnight so you might just need to keep doing what you’re doing. It’s quite possible that your existing efforts are about to pay off. Of course you can’t wait forever so look for steady growth of traffic and increased conversion (even if it’s by a small margin).
There are times when a marketing strategy should be tweaked or altered because it’s ineffective or outdated, but if you’re just not sure, instead of wasting all your hard work, how about trying to run a few things in tandem?
- Split testing. Split your efforts between a few strategies to see what’s bringing you results. Splitting your keyword strategies, trying out some different landing pages, tweaking your sales copy on a different site can all be helpful.
- Add new websites / sales pages/ blogs, etc. to see whether new tactics will work. Don’t abandon your old methods yet, especially if the sales are starting to trickle in slowly. It takes time to get to higher conversion rates!
- Try narrowing down. Narrow down your niche, narrow down your target audience, focus on just a few keywords. Once you’ve got one area mastered, then you can increase your reach.
- Add new tactics to existing methods. If your copy is great but not converting, look to get more traffic. If you have a lot of traffic but low conversion rates, tweak your copy and/or look to get more targeted visitors through SEO and advertising strategies.
Conversely, if your numbers are now plummeting and your previously successful efforts no longer bear fruit, you should look to new buiness strategies. A closely watchful eye of your statistics, sales numbers, search engine position, and refund rates is going to help you ensure continued growth of your online business.
Have a most outstanding day.

I’m still in the process of building up my online presence. I will keep this in mind as I start ramping up.
Hi Sean,
Again, this is excellent advice. I’m going to have to break down these points and try to improve on them one at a time. I’m not even sure I know how to do split-testing properly but I’ll learn. And I know for sure, I’m not great at writing sales copy.
So, there’s a lot for me to learn. I’ve got a long list of things I need to work on and that list seems to be growing longer each day. I’m really grateful for all the information that you’re providing.
Hi Sean,
My calculations are that if I continue on this path – by reading your blogs, that I’m moving forward, more each day with the learning process.
That’s the most important thing, really.
Hello Sean,
Its all about testing what is working. The time of day for example could make all the difference to a persons blog. The colours might not be eye catching, the words could be hard to use, the product might not suit that style of website etc. There are so many different ways to market your blog/website. Should you walk away from something that is not making money? Only if it is not a passion that you really believe in. When its not a passion then it wont work out. If you have a product that the world wants, and you believe in it with all that you have, then its only a matter of time before you will succeed. Sometimes success is only around the next corner, the next bend, the next challenge. Change what you need to change, but stay strong within
Cheers
Lisa
