keywordsWhen you want to attract search engines to your site or blog or webpage a great way to do that is to strategise about your keywords.  Which keywords should you use?  Here are some helpful keyword strategies for you. As you know, seo is an important aspect of making money online. Your ability to be found by prospective customers is critical to your success.

1. Long Tail

The long tail is important because it targets more specific buyers. Instead of targeting Internet Marketing blog you might choose to target beginner Australian internet marketing blog.   That way, you’re getting to a more targeted niche and you have more chances of getting to the top of the search engine results pages.

2. “Buying” Keywords

Target buying words that consist of action instead of research.  Instead of targeting e-book on internet marketing, target download internet marketing e-book and you might find your site gets traffic that entices more people who are ready to get the product now rather than people just at the browse /explore stage.

3. Competitiveness

The following is a slightly tricky thing to achieve but you want to target keywords that are high traffic enough to be profitable and in demand from internet users but not so popular that they are saturated beyond your ability to get to the first or second page of SERPs.  Keyword research and niche research is paramount to your success.

SEO is something you’ll have to strategise with and change tactics with on an ongoing basis. It isn’t evergreen. Instead, it’s an ongoing part of achieving and then maintaining online success.

Have a most outstanding day.

That’s the trick. Trying to find good keywords but not too competitive.
The software I use is very helpful in achieving that

Hi Sean,

I tend to target the long tail keywords exclusively because they’re easier to rank for. But, when you’re trying to write a blog in a heavily competitive niche; sometimes even the long tail keywords are hard to come by. I can spend a lot of time searching for the right keywords.

Also, I agree with using ‘buying’ keywords. I think that works really well. :)

Hi Sean,
Once you have a list of keywords, adwords is a great way to test their performance. No doubt you have info about this somewhere that i just have not come across… yet :)

Hi Sean,

Target buying words that consist of action instead of research is a really good tip that I will have to remember because people using these words will be more likely to make a purchase right?

I tend to pick quite high competition keywords which is probably not the best way to go for a beginner.

Keywords research is what I am about to undertake as I am working on the first article to be posted in my second blog when I get that into action. Hopefully I will get them right.

Every time I read one of your posts Sean I end up getting linked to another because I want to learn more and tend to click on and on. This could go on forever.

Hi Isa,

There’s so much to learn from Sean’s posts and you just want to move onto the next one. It’s not easy finding that balance between learning and applying.

I think sometimes I really get stuck with the learning and not doing enough work on my actual blog. So, you’re definitely not the only one with this problem. :)
