When you first set up a new website it’s natural to do all you can to make sure as many people as possible see it. Over time you learn that a small amount of targeted traffic is better than a large amount of visitors from all directions – many of whom don’t have any interest in your site.
Streams of Targeted Traffic
But you can easily become a victim of your own success. When your efforts result in a steady stream of targeted traffic it’s all too easy to sit back and relax, watching that steady stream continuing to come in. That is fine, but why don’t you aim for the next level and try and find more streams of targeted traffic to add to it?
You probably already know that the more people you can get to visit your site who have an interest in what you want to sell, the more sales you will make. That much is obvious, and you’ll get a much higher conversion rate of visitors into sales than you will from a general audience, who mostly just sucks up your bandwidth each month.
Methods for Good Results
So think about what other methods you can use to find more targeted traffic. Which advertising methods can you use to get good results? Can you do things for free which don’t take much effort to get up and running? Even if you have to tweak them or do a little regular work every now and again to keep them working, it’s worth it if you get a lot of visitors in return who are genuinely interested in what you do.
However successful you are at the moment, targeted traffic can get you to the next level of online success. All you need to do is sit down and work out how you are going to get there.
Have a most outstanding day.

I would think getting good targeted traffic is an ongoing endeavour
Hi Gee,
It certainly is. The fun never stops.
Hi Sean,
I think using highly relevant keywords is very important for getting targeted traffic. I think the more relevant a keyword is to your site’s content, the more it helps get you targeted traffic.
I think you need to do your keyword research carefully as your keywords are the cornerstone of all your SEO efforts. SEO techniques help you to rank organically for your keywords in the search engine results pages.
Being in the forum has helped me immensely.
Is there anyone out there having ongoing targeted traffic without putting additional effort in? Wow. But for every new product you want to market you have to create new traffic anyway. So – it is ongoing, which is part of the fun
Hi Sean
I will be needing to implement strategies to get traffic in the next few weeks as I start the IMPOTY Affiliate Marketing and my LCM’s.
I really like this post as it is a good reminder of what I need to consider while fine detailing my marketing plan which is just sitting on a whiteboard at present in a raw state of creation.
What Jazz has said is so true, getting the right keywords is indeed the building blocks for inciting SEO and attracting traffic.
These articles are awesome thankyou.
I’ll get a chance to try for some targeted traffic over the next little while on a couple sites I’ve been asked to deal with. One is a new one and the second is one that is being overhauled. It is an interesting challenge. I
guess I get to start trying some of the techniques I’ve been reading about over the last few weeks.
Kill, kill, kill.
As I have only dealt with adwords thusfar it was important to right ads in such a way that it attracted a targeted audience otherwise it just cost a fortune! And also scrap generic keywords that brought in broad sprectrum visitors that only browsed \m/
Great points made here about seeking targetted traffic over broad traffic so you are able to make conversions a lot better. People who are interested will stay, read and interct with your site over those who are doing a quick window shop.
