Hi Sean,
Online directories are very useful and although I have used them when searching for something I had not actually considered listing a site of my own. Not sure if Craigs List has local listings, but will investigate the possibilities.

A PO box would be the best option if you are not comfortable providing your home address Jazz. For SEO, at least you will still have your location included under the PO box number.

Hi Sean,

This is a very interesting post and it may be something I may be able to make use of. I may be able to focus some of my efforts on getting localised SEO search results.

I will certainly be looking into using the online directories. When you say to put your physical address on your Contact page; is it okay to use a PO box? I’m not sure I would be comfortable putting in my home address.

There’s a dentist near me in a big Sydney suburb who’s doing really well, and no doubt it’s due to his SEO results. He’s ranked #1 on google for the long-tail keyword which includes the suburb name. I can see the impact it’s having on his business when I visit him. He’s got some good SEO people doing his online marketing, that’s for sure.
