When you’re trying to gain exposure online through search engines, Linking Strategies are a great way to get attention. The benefits of linking are enormous both from a search engine optimisation perspective as well as from the perspective of getting found by human viewers as well. Both will lead to better chances of making money through whatever online IM efforts you’re working on.
Working on multiple linking strategies is something any internet marketer should work on, on an ongoing basis. You can do this yourself or hire people to help you.
Here is a look at some different Linking Strategies:
1 Way Links
1 way links are links pointing to your website from other sites without a link back in return. If you have someone pointing to your website from an article, a blog, or another website this is considered a 1 way link.
2 Way Links
2 way links are reciprocal links. You point to someone and they point to you. This can be beneficial from a relevancy perspective if the site is related to your subject matter and from the perspective of attracting people to follow those links.
Two way links might not be as valuable from a Google page rank perspective as one way links but there is definite value in almost any type of link.
3 Way Links
This relatively new SEO strategy requires a little bit of planning and is something someone with multiple sites of their own might use. Site A links to site B and site B links to site C which makes it all appear to be valuable one way links (provided you don’t link site C back to A, where it would be obvious that it was a ring). You also won’t get as much value from this type of Linking Strategy if the same IP address owns all three sites.
Why Use Different Linking Strategies?
Google and other search engines may provide your site with more authority if it has many one way links pointing to it. Two way links may not be as valuable as one way links, so by doing three way links you provide sites with various types of links as well.
It can be hard to keep track of, but by using many of the free available Web 2.0 pages out there as well as article marketing directories you can point many links to your sites which can increase their page rank as well as the keywords you rank for.
Anchored Keywords
Anchoring good keywords is a vital part of all Linking Strategies. Link the words you want to rank for as well as words related to your subject matter for maximum SEO value.
Not only will people see a potential link to click to follow to your site but search engines will use that link in their measurements of the value and relevancy of your site.
Authority Sites
Not all sites are created equally so it’s important to try to link with authority sites as well as to avoid links to and from sites that are considered spam or that use questionable or black hat tactics.
Check your site stats on a regular basis to see how many sites link to you. This can help you maximize your SEO by working on keyword strategies and increasing the number of 1 way links.
Mixing up your methods and your strategies on a regular basis to see what’s working for your site will increase your SEO, your traffic, and potentially your sales conversion rates.
Have a most outstanding day.

Good article. When building links, quality is of utmost importance. This is often overlooked by webmasters and SEO’s. Often you will see a site with just a handful of backlinks rank higher than one with thousands. This is because of quality and a natural linking pattern.
Hiring someone to optimize your website would be a really good idea if you have a new website and/or business venture. Using the services of an experienced Offshore SEO company will give you exactly the results you need. SEO companies are trained to generate a steady continuous flow of quality traffic in order to achieve more revenue for your business. This is one of those factors that many of the people are ignorant of. I am a physicist, and run my own clinic. Marketing was a part that generally doctors are unaware of. I made one website which I though would help me ameliorate my business, but it doesn’t make a great difference as it was far not found on search engines. Then, I came across a website designing and marketing company named as medicalwebexperts, with which I had a contract for advertising and optimizing my website to make it google-friendly. The main problem with my website was found to be improper website coding, which resisted my website to be listed in top most search. The company did well in reconstructing my website, making it popular using SEO techniques. The benefits are slowly coming into action. Website helped me getting a good sum of patients at my doorstep. Web marketing really helped my business work, making my investments in SEO worthy.
Great info Sean. How do you backlink to others sites of blogs? Do you need to permission to connect to someones site or blog?
Just read that your aiming to be number one Internet Marketer in Australia, you can’t be far off now. Your an inspiration
Hi Bridget
Thanks! You can link to anyone and anywhere on the net. Backlinks simply means that it is a link that points back to you from somewhere else.
