monetizationWhen you use social media tools to try to increase your chances of making more sales, you can take informration in these tools and use them to your advantage. A lot of hype is spread around about monetizing Facebook, MySpace and Twitter but new marketers often don’t know how to mine these systems for information that can help them.  Here are some tips:

Search for keywords

Twitter Search is a tool that can help you in internet marketing if you’re using it to its full potential.  A good way to use it is to search for people you can market to. If you sell widgets, you can search for others that have tweeted about widgets or that use widgets in their profile and add them to your friend list. From there, you can establish yourself as a guru in that niche and you could develop more subscribers, clients and people who’ll buzz about you on the social marketing scene.

Search for groups

Some of these tools such as MySpace and FaceBook have common interest groups. By joining those groups, you increase your ability to find people interested in your subject matter..

Make the most of your profile

Use the profile on these sites to maximize your potential for followers and for success. You need to look like a valuable member of the community and not just another person trying to sell something.

Have a most outstanding day.

Great tips Sean

I am on facebook and have fan pages setup. What are the strategies I could use apart from their ppc ads?
Can banners be put on?

Hi Sean,

I’m still learning how to make the best use of social media. I use Twitter Search and find it to be very helpful in finding me my target audience. However, I’m still working on monetizing it correctly.

Also, I have the same problem with Facebook. But I just read your post on how to maximize their fan pages and I think this is something I could start doing.

Using social media to get the attention you need is a good way, as the searches allow you to find members of the niche you are serving. And as always – you need to add value, not just a product.

Hi Sean,
I can use all the monetization tips I can get and I agree that Twitter and Facebook are great Social Media tools. They are great for becoming involved in community Groups, for finding niche groups and can be used for finding like minded people.

I can find these groups be using relevant keywords in searches.

Hi Sean

I know that by not being involved in social media I am missing out on a lot of activity, meeting people and building an online persona.

Obviously I want to monetize my site to the max and I am not just in this for the social scene, but from what I have learned here over the past 3 weeks is that it is important to be part of the overall online community of people who are like minded and who are marketing similar products or services.

I understand that linking up with other people through social media also helps to get links back to my site and also allows me to link up to others expanding my customer base and getting known more and more.

The Social media, such as facebook, Twitter, My space and the like are great places to start I came across facebook ages ago and used it only to keep in touch with a lot of my family members.
Now I use it for everything, My space I find harder no one I know seems to want to use it Twitter I use often but would like to have more time to use it.

I use social media, such as Twitter, Plurk and Facebook to promote a couple of my blogs which unfortunately are marketing nothing other than my thoughts and the escapades of Grateful We’re Not Dead. I have been successful at times promoting clients sites using these tools.

I must admit I’ve never though of using Twitter Search to do keyword searches. That goes on my ToDo list and into my Learn and Earn notebook.

I’ve also added the use of Facebook Fan Pages to my ToDo list for some new projects I’m involved in.

As usual, almost everyone of Sean’s articles give me something new to try.

Hi Sean

Twitter is such a multi purpose social site and being able to actually use ‘Twiiter Search” to search for keywords is fantastic.

I am so looking forward to reading the ‘Ultimate Twitter Guide” when this competition is over so I can find out what other benefits there are.

I really like the feature on Social Oomph for your Twitter account where you can create a link back to the Social Oomph server and you can show more URL’s if you have them with that Twitter account.

I have these accounts but are not using them to their full potential!
