SEO isn’t a one off project that you’ll ever be done with. Even if you reach the pinnacle of success for your niche, you’re not ever going to be done. If you stop, you’ll slide down the search engine rankings.
Successful internet marketing professionals spend time on SEO on a regular basis by either doing it themselves or getting some help.
This reality makes SEO seem daunting to a lot of people because they see it as a never ending cycle of hard work that’s not guaranteed to net them positive results.
It’s enough to make some people give up before they get the chance to achieve online success. However, continually working at SEO can help you in many ways online.
You Can…
- Continue to improve your reach to your customers and prospects.
- Learn more about your niche market each and every day – become a true specialist.
Instead of seeing search engine optimisation as a huge mountain to climb, view it as a staircase, and tackle it one step at a time. With each step you take, you’ll improve your chances of success, improve your online brand recognition and (if you do it right…) your online reputation as well.
Tips To Improve Your SEO Attitude
- Make it fun – Social marketing, for instance, gives you great SEO results and helps you build relationships and build up your knowledge. Many people who join tools like Friendfeed in order to improve their SEO actually get a lot of value out of the links recommended in their friends’ lists.
- Promote – Do activities that promote an upcoming product launch but make it interesting instead of boring. Throwing a contest can make building buzz about a product much more interesting and it can have great SEO value. You’ve just taken a task and made it interesting to you and to others.
- Do a little bit every day – Instead of spending one day a week at it full bore and making it into a thing of dread, spend thirty minutes a day doing various activities. You can even make up a SEO schedule for yourself. Do it at the beginning of the day and then get on with your day! Not only will you have a greater chance of success but seeing your SEO results every day could make it something you look forward to.

Sean
I will be creating a schedule for my SEO activities as you suggest.
A little bit each day won’t make it as daunting.
There sure is a lot involved but I like the social interacting part of it.
Hi Sean,
I kind of enjoy learning and applying SEO. It’s great when you’ve done your keyword research and you’ve found a gold nugget keyword. Then, it’s really exciting when the search engines start sending you traffic using those same keywords.
The only area where I feel I have a bad SEO attitude is with social marketing. I need to work on this more and maybe I need to create a daily schedule to get involved more. I could work on using SEO in my updates and maybe it would help me to want to do it more.
Seo is something you can constantly improve on, learn from others and have fun. With all the Social media and options to promote I can only handle it doing a bit every day, but it’s more and more becoming a habit already
A little bit everyday will keep you on track to achieve your goals Renee. Good work
