Last post we talked about list building and how important it is. Once you have a list, what can you use to communicate effectively with your clients?
Autoresponders
In order to best manage your customer list and guide them through buying from you, autoresponders work like a charm. There are free and fee-based programs and what you can do is program your customer list and set up autoresponder e-mails. Not only can you schedule scripted messages, each with a strong call to action but you can do ad hoc messages as well when you have something to share.
Some of the popular programs out there include GetResponse and Aweber. They allow you to manage a sequence of communications with the touch of a few buttons. New subscribers are automatically enrolled in that sequence. This is great and you can either write all your e-mails and newsletters ahead of time or pay someone to write them for you. Not only can you manage the communications but you might be able to get click through stats as well which gives you even more power when you know what’s working effectively for you.
Autoresponder Writing Tips
When writing emails to people, be sure that your email does the following:
- Offer value. No one will stay subscribed if they feel like they’re being spammed
- Offer a way out. Make it clear that they’ve opted in to receiving emails and make it clear that they can unsubscribe easily.
- Don’t forget a call to action. The call to action tells them what to do next which might be to visit your site or click a link.

Hi, I found your blog on this new directory of WordPress Blogs at blackhatbootcamp.com/listofwordpressblogs. I dont know how your blog came up, must have been a typo, i duno. Anyways, I just clicked it and here I am. Your blog looks good. Have a nice day. James.
Hi Sean,
I’ve been looking at using Aweber but as yet I haven’t set anything up. I’m assuming it’s really easy to set up but I’d love to see Yang do a how-to video. His videos are always excellent and they’re very easy to follow along and replicate.
That’s the next step on my plan – not sure how long it will take me to get there though. Still a bit scared of all the emailing site of Internet Marketing.

I’m sure it is in the pipeline.
I know Aweber has some training with videos and webinars on their site. Here is the link

Hi Gee,
Thanks for the link. I’ll check it out soon.
Hi Sean,
Do you know if we are required by law to put an address on our e-mail broadcasts to subscribers? The reason I ask is that some may feel way about including their home address on all their broadcasts.
Thanks Gee, just what I need to boost my learning!!..Now I can learn more with the help of people like you.
Cheers
Rose
Hi Sean
Auto responders are a great tool to have. I have used them on my Outlook Express account when working in corporate and they are great time savers.
I can see the great advantage for using them in email marketing. They can be personalised too so as not to be spammy.
Aweber get’s the thumbs up and I believe it is the preferred autoresponder amongst many Internet Marketers. You can get a free trial to see if you like it.
I’m nowhere the point of using an autoresponder yet but I like the idea of being able to send out the same sequence of emails to each new person who has opted-in.
Ha! Just mentioned the Autoresponder in my comment in your previous post.
Are You Using Autoresponders Yet?
No I’m not, want to be able to give some value to my subscribers before I start to pay for the subscription – but it is on my to-do-list.
As a subscriber I really like the two you mentioned as they are efficient, clean and easy to use and you really are unsubscribed when you request to be!
