OnlyWire is a great tool for doing social book marking in multiple places with the click of a button. It can be a great time saver which means you’ll do more social marketing with fewer keystrokes. The initial set up is a little bit of effort but well worth it. It was shown to me a few years ago and has had a home on my FireFox browser ever since.
Social bookmarking can get you more traffic. Plain and simple. Placing interesting headlines on sites that information-hungry people browse within hot categories can net you traffic, subscribers and maybe even some sales.
What is OnlyWire?
OnlyWire is a bookmarklet that contains many social bookmarking sites. Instead of having to visit several sites every time you want to do some bookmarking, you can simply use the toolbar in your browser to bookmark them all at once. Then, if you have a new website or new blog post you want to share with the world, you can simply enter the details once.
Setting Up Social Bookmarking Accounts
Several of the tools in the system might be ones you already use but if not, you’ll want to visit all the sites first and create accounts. Then you’ll need to set up the tool with your username and password for each site. Sites covered by this bookmarklet include: del.icio.us, Furl, Wink, Blogmemes, Bluedot and others.
Have a most outstanding day.

Thank you for the information about OnlyWire. I will try free promote plan first.
Its amazing how many social media there are today, so tools like OnlyWire come in really handy. How does that compare to something like PeopleBrowsr or TweetDeck?
Hi Sean,
I’ve started using Shareaholic recently to make it quicker and easier to share content wherever I find it on the net. The button just sits in my address bar so I don’t have to visit all of the various bookmarking sites to submit the content I like. I can do it from the page I’m on. This saves me lots of time.
I use shareaholic as well Jazz. I have never heard of Onlywire.
Thanks for that advice Jazz, Shareaholic sounds like good value for saving time and sharing further and faster.
Sean
You are suggesting a lot of tools here. Could you do a list in order of importance so we don’t get overwhelmed
Yes. There’s so many tools I haven’t heard of, I don’t know where to start.
I just checked out the OnlyWire intro video. It seems to indicate that unlike ShareThis, which enables sharing on one site with each click, OnlyWire enables sharing on multiple sites with one click. So this could enable much more rapid submission. Probably need to be a bit more careful with it as a result.
Have installed in my Firefox and will definitely be having a play with it.
Another tool I have used in the past for submissions to multiple social bookmarking sites is SocialMarker. However, it seems to be having difficulties in that it can no longer submit to Stumbleupon and Twitter. I’m sure there are other similar sites available but I haven’t had time to check lately.
Another somewhat related online tool is NameChk. This site allows you to determine if a particular username is available on 149 popular Social Networking and Social Bookmarking websites. By utilising the same name on as many sites as possible you can promote your brand consistently and facilitate promoting you online credentials.
Hi Sean
I will take a closer look at onlywire I have downloaded it, anything to save time has to be a benefit.
I just went in to sign up with onlywire and then went to my website – to find the host is down for maintenance. It looks good so have bookmarked it and will return to it next week.
Another little gem! My notebook is getting full with lots of ideas which you are giving. I’ve just had a look through the site and have signed up for the free acount to play with and to see how things go. Looks like it connects to a lot of different social networks. Thankyou for sharing!
This post was written a few years ago….went to some of the URLS mentioned:
Furl is a parked site
Blogmemes didnt exist and
Bluedot is now called Faves.
Things change fairly quickly online, it’s a good reminder to check on your links from time to time
I am amazed with what is available for sharing content online and on multiple sites at once. Onlywire looks great and I will also investigate Shareaholic as suggested by Jazz . Thank you.
It’s next week, so will go back to OnlyWire and see if I can get in this time. I do need some more automation
