We’ve talked about the benefits of using micro blogging and lifestream social media tools here before and that’s because it’s the absolute best tool an internet marketing entrepreneur can take advantage of. These social marketing sites are generally free, they’re crawling with potential mentors, and even more than that—they’re crawling with potential customers. New people join these sites daily and they have them on at home, at work, and are wired from their mobile phones so that they get updates in their stream wherever they are! If you’re not capitalising on this, you are definitely leaving money on the table.
Here is a non-exhaustive list of some ways to use lifestreaming tools you might not be already doing:
- Posting your URLS on your profile and in your stream. This works well for human traffic and for SEO backlinks
- Ask friends that are on your list to Digg / Stumble / Social bookmark your new links for you
- Ask technical questions
- Ask if a product you’re thinking about using is any good
- Ask people in your stream if anyone would like to review YOUR information product. This could be aimed at potential customers as well as peers
- Post links to other Web 2.0 sites (press releases, article submissions, etc) so people will visit. Some of the other tools you’re using will have update features built into your profile so that you can automatically do this
- Invite people to your online (pod cast / webinar) events
- Invite people to your offline events (trade show conferences / workshops)
You may be using several tools and you may have some of the same followers in some of your time lines but using more than one of these social marketing tools can be smart and beneficial. Spending just a bit of effort on this type of social marketing every day can quickly add up to building a following, gaining credibility, and enhancing your online success.
Have a most outstanding day.

Hi Sean,
This is a very comprehensive list and unfortunately for me, I’m not doing most of them. I really have a lot to learn in the way of social media marketing.
This is more stuff to add to my to-do list. By the time I finish reading your blog, I’ll know so much great stuff and I’ll have a massive amount of work to do.
Yes Jazz there is an amazing amount of tools out there.
Like you my list is growing huge and I will be setting some priorities so I can manage it.
