When trying to make money online, who you know can often impact your success levels. If you have online friendships, make the most of them! Here are some things you can do:
- Ask for a blogroll exchange. You link to them, they link to you.
- Ask for Stumbles, Diggs, etc. when you write a great post.
- Consider doing a joint venture where you work together to promote a product and split profits.
- Ask them to Tweet about you on Twitter. Re-tweeting your tweets or telling people you’re a great person to follow can be helpful.
- Ask for a testimonial for your sales page and / or review of your product on their site linking back to your site.
As you can see there are a lot of things your online friends can do for you. They can also share tips and advice and be a sounding board for you at times as well. Don’t forget to reciprocate and do things for them as well. Through mutual back scratching with online friends we can all be more successful. The more online friendships you have, the better! Need to make more online friends? We’ll talk about that tomorrow!
Have a most outstanding day.

Hi Sean,
This is excellent advice. I could be doing more for my online friends. There are a couple of things on the list that I hadn’t thought of before. I love the idea of a small group of friends who support and promote each other’s work. I think it would be invaluable.
I am very excited by the possibilities. I will be doing a lot more to make more friend on line.
I look forward to your next post to learn even more.
Hello Sean,
Never thought to ask for friends to promote me online
I feel weird when I ask for help around the house, not sure how I would feel to ask for someone to retweet, or promote my website/product.
Guess I need to overcome the way I hold back and take on board your five steps to Make the Most of Your online friendships. Friends are important, and I would be happy to blog roll, or provide a testimonal so if I am happy to provide that as a friend, then I need to accept that friends are happy to provide for me
Cheers
Lisa
Hi Sean
I love the idea of working with friends to promote each other online.
The YOTA forum is a wonderful force of energy where we have a ready made PR machine in the form of friends, groups, supporters and subforums all ready and willing to help each other.
If we each were to help one person, imagine the amazing ripple effect it would create. This is a really good idea to take action on.
I’ve always been hesitant to ask for assistance online promoting something. Maybe it’s a Canuck thing.
With the friendships that develop during such events as the Learn and Earn competition it should become easier to ask for support and then reciprocate. Online friendships can be just as strong as eye-to-eye ones.
And the list in this article provides 5 excellent ways to make the most of your online friendships in your Internet Marketing.
Yeah – see my comment following!
“Please Sir, may I have some more” – with apologies to Dickens – I would like anyone to retweet, Digg and Stumble my blogs and websites please – all JV offers will also seriously be considered!
The Canuck way to say that is, “Excuse me, I’m sorry for asking, but do you think it might be at all possible, if you had the time and if it’s not too much of an inconvenience, that you might just be able, at your convenience, to retweet, Digg, Stumble… ”
This becomes easier to do when you have built up the trust with your online friends and that you see that your efforts for them are being reciprocated. Really, if you have a good thing going, the work you are doing for them is just like doing the work for yourself as you are helping each other!
