One of the great things about being an online entrepreneur is the freedom. New months should have new goals and in fact, each day should have goals even if that goal might be to get balance and do some resting and relaxing.
Freedom comes at a price and that is the price of buckling down when you need to do so. When you achieve goals, you need to set new ones and never become complacent. Here are some tools that can help you with goal setting and getting things done.. Sometimes you need to kick yourself in the rear to get moving when you’re your own boss and these tools can help:
Day Planner:
A good old fashioned day planner can help you keep track of your to-do list and make appointments. Despite technology, putting pen to paper is often a great way to brainstorm so set aside a section for your ideas even if you can’t work on them straight away.
Google Calendar:
Google has a great calendar feature that you can use to remind you and assign tasks for yourself. Getting an online reminder can be very helpful.
Email Memo Services
Send yourself an email memo through a site such as Memo To Me or Freeminder.
Whether you want to be reminder to call your Mother-in-Law for her birthday or to make an appointment at the dentist or do your bookkeeping, a gentle nudge from yourself can be helpful.
Have a most outstanding day.

Hi Sean,
I’m pretty good with my time management. I’m normally very well organized. I use goal setting and I have a routine. (One that has completely gone out the window of late
)
I love lists and I find them to be really helpful in getting things done. I’m usually pretty well disciplined. This area is pretty much a strength of mine.
No, I am not staying on target with my goals. I should have my new post ready since yesterday and it will be (again) a sunday-morning-crash action. Somehow my life still hasn’t accepted that I need to be marketing online and I admit I still sleep too much
But I love the “MemoToMe” – didn’t know that this existed. Should have guessed so.
Sean
These will be great tools to help keep me on track.
Hi Gee,
Are you staying on track since you’ve ramped up your commenting?
Hi Sean
I really like experimenting with time management in order to be a master of my time not a slave to it!
Most days my time management is pretty good and at times it can go pear shaped.
I have learned that when it goes pear shaped don’t make fruit salad, just put the pear back where it began and start from where I was before I got heavily distracted.
I print my weekly time charts up each Sunday. I actually keep my week on an spreadsheet and keep to a routine. I stick the spreadsheet on my desk next to me and refer to it throughout the day, keeping an eye on the time as I go along.
This works for me and helps me achieve a lot in a day.
Hi Elly,
I love how you don’t make fruit salad; you just put the pear back and start again from where you got distracted. I’m going to have to try this. Normally I’m pretty good with my time management but lately I’m struggling to keep up with anything.
I never go back to where I lost my way. I normally just make it up from where I am at that moment. Thanks for the great tip.
I must admit, I haven’t used a day planner since I retired. However, I do use a couple Google Calendars – one personal and one for Grateful We’re Not Dead. Now I’ll have to have a look at Memo To Me and Freeminder.
I guess I better put that on my ToDo list so I won’t forget it.
I have had to really work on time management and over the past month have put in steps like having an achievable to-do-list which Ive created on the computer and print out each week with adjustments to it with daily, weekly and monthly tasks. I have really tried to adhere to it – but it is still a challenge. I am balancing a few things in my life, so keeping on top of it all has become a very important component to reduce stress.
