Making money online isn’t as easy as some people come to believe; but it isn’t as difficult either. However, very few people get to the top echelons of the earning elite while most of the others barely make it online. Why does that happen? Why is it that some people make the cash registers sing and dance, while others flounder? For some, it is excuses:
Time
I don’t have the time: Most of those looking to make money online would probably try to figure it all out while working at a full-time job. That already puts them in a situation where it might be a little tight for them to stretch and accommodate for the grueling, but still flexible, work demands for online revenue streams – it could become a convenient excuse. Find time for yourself; go out of your way; work extra hard and put some effective time management techniques to good use.
Money
I don’t have the money: Many ways you can make money online don’t require an investment. Find something that doesn’t require an investment to get you started and then use some of your profits to invest in something that does require an investment. If you look at some success stories, most of the folks who started out started with nothing but a fire in their belly.
Knowledge
I don’t have the know-how: The internet is a valuable learning resource if you take the time to look. The only excuse for lack of knowledge is lack of effort in researching.
Mentoring
I don’t have a mentor: Do you really need one? If so, read everything you can until you find someone who inspires you but if you act as if you are a mentor with a protege of your own, chances are you will succeed.
Connections
I don’t have the connections: You don’t have to be a celebrity to start a business. The most important thing needed is to get started and once you do that, it will all fall into place. Learn a bit about social networking and you can make some connections real quick!

Hi Sean,
I think these excuses could apply generally to anyone wanting to be successful; either online or offline. I think we need to be honest about if we really want to be successful. If we really want this, then we won’t let anything stand in our way. No excuse will be good enough.
Having said that, we need to work out if these excuses are really just masking fear that we can’t have the success we want. If this is the case, then we need to get serious about working on creating the mindset we need to be able to achieve the success we want.
Jazz
You are so right. I came up with all the excuses under the sun and have a hard drive full of information that I hardly did anything with.
The big change for me was when I came across a group of people that I really admire for their honestly and integrity that I didn’t think existed in the online world.
These people have given me the fire in my belly to enable me to succeed.
