Online Advertising - Saving MoneyA lot of people think that the only way they can dominate the search engines is to pay an expert to do help you do it. While it’s wise to make solid investments in your online business, there are a lot of things you can also do to save money.

Here are some tips on saving money on Online Advertising.

Online Advertising Vs Organic SEO

Organic SEO results are the real thing. You don’t have to pay to get there, but you do need to work to achieve these results. While a lot of people do make money on search engine marketing with pay per click campaigns alone, if your primary method of search engine optimisation is organic, you’ll save a lot of money and get more results. It’s proven that most people who search Google for something tend to go for the organic search results rather than the sponsored ones.

PPC does have a place in your strategy as ads can be strong enough to grab attention over indexed listings as well as be present contextually on blogs, content sites, and in email (such as Gmail) adverts as well, but the more organic optimisation you do, the less money you’ll have to spend on PPC.

To look at it another way, if you want to do a pay per click campaign and have a solid organic footing, you’ll be making enough profit to be able to dedicate a nice budget allocation to do pay per click and you’ll be able to do it with firsthand knowledge about what keywords and advertisements can drive the right sort of traffic to your landing pages.

Analyse Organic Results

By having a solid organic plan and analysing the results, you can decide what areas to focus time, energy, and budget on. There are many free analytic tools that will tell you where traffic comes from, what your bounce rate is, and what your users do after landing on your page. By analysing these results you can see which Online Advertising tactics are working and replicate them or expand on them.

Learn From The Best

Analyse your competitors and find some mentors and see what it is that they look like they’re doing right. Doing this can save you a lot of money you’d otherwise spend on a marketing consultation fee. Many SEO and SEM gurus have blogs that you can subscribe to and offer free reports that you can opt-in to receive which will help you quench your thirst for internet marketing knowledge.

Free Internet Marketing Tools

There are some great tools out there that you’ll want to invest in but there are also countless free tools online that you can also use to help you succeed. Free blog communities, social bookmarking article directories, press releases, and online groups can help you learn to market and leverage the knowledge you have.

Starting off with low-cost internet marketing strategies that are proven as effective can help you gain the results you want so that you have the option of continuing along that path and /or adding paid Online Advertising strategies to further boost an effective marketing plan.

Have a most outstanding day.

That’s great advice Sean.
I am concentrating on SEO until I am comfortable that I have the right knowledge to look at PPC ads

I too am concentrating more on the organic SEO side of things before looking into online advertising like PPC. Especially for beginners I think that perhaps free online advertising is a better option to start out with.

Hi Sean,

I really enjoy learning SEO techniques and applying them to my site. It’s a great feeling when you start getting traffic based on your keywords. This is an area that I want to excel in.

I want to start running PPC but I just feel I need to spend a little more time learning how it works.

Hi Sean,
Online advertising is okay if you know what you are doing. I not an advertiser can lose a lot of money very quickly.

For me organic advertising suits me fine right now. I see that there is so much to learn about Social Media before I think about PPC advertising.

As Jazz said I am enjoying the learning about SEO and all the little tricks that go with it. It’s necessary for me to learn to analize organic results thoroughly, before I start thinking about paying for online advertising.

Hi Sean,

This really appeals to me because I have been learning about how to create blogs to make money through the free methods of learning that you have suggested here.

So far I have found that a lot of Guru’s won’t give you all the little secrets that you desire without a cost but if you search around enough you will find more than enough information to get you started & continue to learn how to build & monetize a blog or website.

I have found a great deal of tips & particularly relevant information within the SeanSeo.com, AussieSeo.com & SeanRasmussen.com blogs that have helped me to understand some key aspects to blog structure & conversions.

I agree with you Jeremy – many guru’s offer free material if you sign up – then when you do, it is usually stuff freely available anyway. They have that hook that says to really do well, you have to upgrade (usually a monthly fee) – and even then much of the material is what Sean has here and in his other blogs for free.

I would love to see one of those gurus make an offer of real help based on prospective income, rather than paid fees.
