Google Adwords Coupons – Tips For Best Use

Google wants to impress you with the power they wield in cyberspace. They know that they can make you wealthy (and get wealthier themselves) and they also know you’re probably afraid to invest your hard earned money at first. That’s why they dangle a carrot and offer you some credit to help you take the plunge into pay per click marketing.

Google Adwords Coupons - Tips For Best UseSign up for an Adwords account and you’ll undoubtedly be offered a Google Adwords coupon to be used toward a pay per click campaign.

The Google Adwords account offers you a free bit of info that can help you with your organic search engine marketing campaign. You can look up keywords and make some decisions to help you be competitive and gain organic targeted traffic. But Google wants you to want placement in the sidebar or across the top banner. By gaining placement in both spots, you’ve got a greater chance of driving targeted traffic to your website.

A mistake a lot of new marketers (or those new to pay per click campaigns) make is that they take the plunge with that “free” Google advertising money and just give it a whirl. But if you take the time to use your coupon wisely, it could net you some sales and help you generate some profit that you could further sow into your business.

Here are some tips for best use of Google Adwords coupons, whether it’s $25, $50, or $100 (Google often offers up $100 coupons, especially if they’ve offered you a smaller coupon and you haven’t taken advantage).

• Do some keyword research. Take more than five minutes to do it and choose something with high traffic and as low competition as possible.

Analyse online competition. Do you have a better product? Do you at least have more convincing ad copy?

• Write your ad well. You’ve got a really small amount of space to make an impression so do your best to compel targeted buyers to click. Learn about what motivates your audience to act and learn how to write Adwords ads to the best of your ability.

• Optimise your website. The layout of the landing page and the search engine optimisation factors will impact not just what happens when people land on your page either via organic results or through a paid click but those SEO factors also impact your Google PPC quality score which will impact pricing and your placement on the page. A good score can make a difference between the area below the fold and placement directly where the eyes of your new customer will fall.

• Learn all you can about launching a profitable pay per click campaign before you spend that coupon. Google typically offers a long period before that coupon will expire so take full advantage to make the most of it and it could generate traffic that could fund a larger and more aggressive internet marketing campaign.

Getting something for nothing is rare in this day and age. When you stumble upon something as good as Google Adwords coupons, take advantage of it and use it as a stepping stone so you can make the most of it!

Have a most outstanding day.

Great advice Sean, I’m about to set up a Google Adwords account and I’ll do lots of homework before using the coupon. I’m enjoying learning about the whole area of using Google Adwords effectively.

Hi Sean,
Very handy information. I have a Google Adwords account but as yet have not been offered a coupon. If I am though I now know to use it wisely by doing proper keyword research and setting myself up properly for an ad campaign.

Ordinarily, I must admit I likely would have been that someone who “just give a whirl” because it was free. I appreciate your advice.

Hi Sean,
I have a Google Adwords coupon which I’m not sure has expired yet, I’ll have check that out. Just wondering is it possible to set up Adwords ads/campaign, which when clicked, goes through an Affiliate Link to a product sales page.

Adwords terms and conditions states that you are unable to do this, there are other services that do allow it though, such as facebook ads, yahoo search marketing etc.

I haven’t tried Google Adwords yet, as I’ve been focusing on organic traffic from SEO, but will look into this. Thanks.

I was lucky enough to be sent a coupon for $75 worth of Adwords advertising a few months after having my Adsense account open.

I signed up and redeemed the offer and pocketed $75 worth of advertising.

I can’t remember if I was offered a google adwords coupon when I signed up but I do remember I rushed into a ppc campaign without having a clue and blew up over $800 in the first month. Needless to say I’m a bit hesitant now until I have learnt a lot more.

I think a lot of people would be in the same boat Jackie. Jumping into PPC without at least some basic knowledge can be a great way of throwing away money. PPC can be a cost effective means of marketing, but only if done correctly. Always start out small, then test and measure your results ;-)

Hi Renee,

That sounds like a smart move to me!

Google Adwords can cost you a pretty penny if your not careful as I’m sure you are aware. I think taking tips from someone like Sean who has experience in the area of running PPC ads will save you time, money & piece of mind : )

I’ve received a $50 coupon yesterday from Google Adwords. It’s valid until end of July so I’ll need to put it to good use before then.

Camil may help me get started with this one.

I have been banned from Google Adwords :-(

The good news is that is has stopped me from spending any money on more unplanned ads.
One of my downfalls while learning this ‘Internet Marketing’ business was the fact that I had to build up my tenacity and perseverance and learn patience.

So, while giving up was never an option for me, when I had those days/weeks when nothing was working and I was having meltdowns, I would use the tools that I had learnt and knew a little about-like adwords-and would feel like I had achieved something instead of failing that day.

It did end up costing money however it also paved the way for some great knowledge :-)

Hi Trish,

I would like to know you got banned from Google Adwords?

I have had limited use of Google Adwords because of the cost & risks involved so I am interested to hear how a why you could get banned from such a service : )

I have had offers of free advertising coupons too but have never taken them up as I don’t feel that up to speed with PPC.

This article makes me wonder if it is worth trying PPCwith others e.g. Yahoon first or FB? Are they cheaper?

Thanks Sean,

Google Adwords coupons are pretty cool because you can have a bit of a play around with some ads before jumping in and spending up with your budget.

I have had a very brief experience with Google Adwords but still have to agree that you will be much more equipped for success if you follow these tips for best use.

After cashing in on my coupon I launched a couple of ads to split test but only ran them for a few days as the cost per click was so high compared to my CTR & commission rate, it would have cost me a huge amount more than I stood to gain.

Hi Sean,

I have never been offered a Google Adwords Coupon, but appreciate the great advice if ever I am.

The whole article really reflects the adage, “Fools rush in….”

I think we have all been fools at one time or another during our internet Marketing journey.
As long as we learn from our mistakes, I don’t think that time is wasted.

Yes…I wasted my adwords coupon a couple of years ago – but it is good now that I know that I wasted it! Wouldn’t it be nice to be offered a new one every year! – or spend so much and you get another offer! I must say though that I have noticed in adsense ads that there is a big push of coupons at the moment.
