When it comes to the best keyword targeting strategy, depending on your product and your target market etc., there are many ways to go. One strategy is to target people looking for the “best” of something.
By putting best in front of a keyword phrase, you’re going to increase your chances of reaching people looking for what others suggest is the “best” of something.
Your organic SEO strategy should have multiple layers but targeting people looking for the best could be a great approach, depending on how competitive the keywords you use are.
Many people who search for products and solutions online rely heavily on others’ opinion of something so they’ll look for what others say is the “best” to help them make a buying decision. By using the word, you could target people who are ready to make a brand buying decision.
Using The Best Keyword Targeting Strategy
Examples of using the word could be that you choose your keywords carefully and then incorporate the word “best” into the phrase. This could include: best computer, best diet book, best widget, best Australian internet marketer, etcetera!
How do you use the word “best” as a keyword phrase? Here are tips:
Weave it into your copy for people looking for the best. You don’t have to promise that your solution is the best (you might not have proof of that). An example would be in the title:
• Tips to Find the Best ____ Solution
• Best ___ Reviews
• What’s the Best Thing You Can do for ____ (Insert problem)?
You can also weave it into your intro. Do this with a question and answer. An example would be: “Are you looking for the best weight loss products on the web? Here are some tips to help you find the best weight loss option for your unique situation.”
Others tips that could help include:
• Use the word “best” in your category, URL, and tags. This helps search engines index you for the words.
• Use the word “best” in naming your alt image tag.
• Do an off-page linking strategy that helps you link the word “best” with your keyphrases to your website, blogs, and landing page(s). Do this through article marketing, social bookmarking, and blog commenting, for example.
• Get knowledgeable and write product reviews for web 2.0 pages and link them back to your site with anchored keywords. Categorise a brand as the “best” based on a thorough review.
• Do a pay-per-click campaign that utilises keywords with “best”.
• Don’t forget Long Tail words. Target specific geographical areas with long tail keywords plus the word “best”.
Hopefully this article has given you some food for thought when you are trying to find the best keyword targeting strategy for your next article or advertising campaign. See what I did there
Have a most outstanding day.

Thanks Sean
I had never thought of using best in the keywords. Great idea
Very, very handy tip. You are the best Aussie Internet Marketer around!
Lina, do I detect an element of flattery? You’re obviously trying your best to be the best commenter and win the $1000 prize.
What a great tip. You are the best!
I find that I have to remember that even though using favorite phrases or words can feel repetitious and possibly not original or clever it really is not going to make a fortune being original. It is only going to work by being clever enough to pick the brains of the best and imitate.
So I am going to use and misuse and overuse ‘best’ for a while or at least until I get another flash of inspiration.
Misuse and overuse Dobbs! what a great idea for you best keyword targeting strategy, you are the best.
Hi Sean,
This is the best keyword targeting strategy. I haven’t thought of taking this approach but it’s so simple; how could it not work? I search for things this way all the time so it’s definitely a great idea.
My to-do list is getting bigger all the time.
Hi Sean,
interesting suggestion. I never thought about putting “best” in front of the keyword but was fully absorbed by the keyword itself. I guess it is correct that most of us do want to find the “best” of something.
Thanks for that tip!
You’ve convinced me, Sean. I am going to start a marketing campaign utilizing the word “best” as part of my keyword targeting strategy. (Now, where is that button on my desktop for MS?)
Get stuck into it Wal
Hi Sean
Another gold nugget from the ‘best’. What a great tip and so much information here to implement. I am going to have to book mark this for later. Even though they say a little knowledge goes a long way, uncommon knowledge is the way to go for success.
Thank you Sean for all these wonderful insights.
This has to be the best article I’ve read on the best keyword targeting strategy expounding the best marketing philosophies of not only the best Australian Internet Marketer, but possibly the best International Internet Marketer.
