Writing eHow ArticlesEhow is a really popular website and internet marketers can take advantage of using it by writing eHow articles.

The prolific web community offers revenue sharing to Americans but people outside the states can also benefit from using the site as well.

How-to sites are really popular. People use the internet to help them find out stuff. This can work to your advantage in many ways. People who visit how-to articles will often be willing to opt-in to receiving further valuable information or a free report that enables you to talk to them in future and these people are often ready to buy when they land on an article. Catering to the audience of people looking to solve a problem can be a great strategy.

In terms of how-to articles, the eHow site ranks on page one for many how-to’s and almost always at the top spot when an ehow “expert” has authored the article. When writing eHow articles, if you study their methods and do some research, you can rank as well as the experts. The site has utilised SEO and with a pagerank of PR8, it can definitely benefit your site’s SEO.

Benefits Of eHow Articles

• Solve someone’s problem.
• Build brand recognition for your product.
• Build on your own online reputation.
• Link back to your website.
• Add affiliate links directly to eHow articles.
• Page one potential for your article for your keywords.
• Your article could be featured on the eHow home page. This site gets a huge amount of traffic!

Provided that the articles meet editorial guidelines, a reference URL that’s an affiliate link is going to be accepted. You can also refer readers back to your own site for further information. Not only can you direct people to your site, but this is a valuable PR8 backlink.

Article WritingTips For Writing eHow Articles

• Use photos. A picture truly is 1,000 words.

• Write high quality articles. Spammy articles will be deleted.

• Show, rather than tell. When you’re helping people to solve a problem, telling them how to solve that problem in a step-by-step method is what will make your article a valuable one.

• Use action verbs to start your steps.

• Interact with commenters. More comments can equal more traffic. Comment on other how-to articles as well as respond to comments on yours.

SEO your articles. Do some keyword research and work keywords into the title, the intro, and don’t forget to utilise the tagging section of the article.

• Link to your eHow article from elsewhere to bring up traffic levels.

Social bookmark your articles.

There are quite a few how-to sites out there. Writing eHow articles could definitely help your online business reap the rewards of great traffic that converts.

Have a most outstanding day.

Well, here we are at another wonderful suggestion.

I have already given up sleep for the most part. I think in order to add this to my growing arsenal, thanks to you, I may have to reduce to one short meal a day. I will NOT give up the red wine, no matter what.

Certainly eHow is a great place and a great idea. I will see what I can sacrifice for a few days and try to get busy writing on eHow.

Thanks, as always for being such a motivator.

Hi Sean,

I haven’t tried writing eHow articles up until now. But with a PR 8 and the ability to add affiliate links to my articles, it would be crazy not to start using this. Now I just need to find a topic to start writing about.

Jazz, don’t be crazy then! There is lots of stuff we learn here that could be of use to eHow visitors – and (?) from your own sites and niche focus.

Yes Peter that is such good advice and we can be writing lot’s of articles for ehow too, and getting more links when we do.

Hi Peter and Elly,

You’re right; we’re learning a lot in this competition and we could definitely use this knowledge to our advantage. It would be awesome to get some PR8 links. That would make a huge difference to my rankings.

It doesn’t hurt to ask – especially if you can identify something on your site that elucidates a point on the high PR site and you can point that out to them when you request a link. You may very well have information that they don’t cover.

Hi Sean,
I just now visited the eHow site and signed up. Also I subscribed to the eHow newsletter. Very interesting site.

If I can solve someone’s problem with my niche product then I’ll be happy. I look forward to writing an article or writing a How To list. I’ll research to help me choose the right topic. I’ll choose a topic that’s interesting and one that will possibly also help someone to overcome a problem. That would be ideal.

Hey Jill, did you use your own name or a pseudonym? I had trouble adding mine

Hi Sean

I am really excited to discover this information as I am creating a niche that will sit very nicely at the feet of ehow!

Writing eHow articles to market my product sounds really easy because of the way you have set this out. I will definitely be using this site. Thank you.

I like the sound of eHow.

Have just been to have a look at the site and although there are a lot of “how to” topics already there I’ll have to put my thinking cap on and see if I can’t come up with something that I think people would want to know “how to” do.

Sean what does PR8 mean in relation to page ranking ?

PR 8 is extremely high on Googles rankings – therefore it is a good link for your website!

Thanks Peter, it is really great to have that information as I am sure many of us want to be successful at having our articles accepted by ehow and knowing what the ranking symbols mean.

Mind you, PR doesn’t indicate traffic numbers, though high ranking sites would get heaps i imagine as they are usually #1 or so on Google Page 1.

PR is built by backlinks and the quality of them, as well as good content and other SEO. So having high PR links to you is good and helps get you higher up page 1 on Google. Of course, you can do that without – if you have a particularly unique longtail keyword such as “Latent Semantic Indexing Technique” or “10 top tips for successful gardening”

The other thing to do with high PR sites is to insert a link to them as authority sites

I just tried to join eHow but it kept saying my name was invalid LOL – will go back later and see what’s up with that! Might pay to read the guidelines!

I like it as it fits in with a lot of the type of articles I write for EzineArticles and also Yahoo Answers. My gardening articles are mostly about ‘how to’ so should be a good fit.

Yes, eHow will suit you to a tee Peter. Have you ever thought about producing Video ‘how to’s ?’. These are very popular you know.

I should you know – that’s a good suggestion – and put them on my YouTube too! Then use the URL for them in a resource box or article link!
