Unique Content – Fundamental To Your Online Success

duplicate contentRyan from HubPages popped by in our last post when we talked about using HubPages to promote your product and site.  Ryan reminded us in comments that free sites like HubPages are looking for unique content.

Content Pays

The more content you’ve got out there pointing to your site, the better! But in your quest for online success you might come across online content spinners that take your articles and mix them up with the idea that you can submit the same article to multiple places.  You might also think it’s ok to take one article and send it to 35 article directories. Be very careful of this type of philosophy.  While you might be able to get some backlinks and traffic, you could also get your online wrist slapped. Sites like HubPages and E-ZineArticles want solid, unique content so could simply reject your articles as well.

Maximum Google Juice

There’s a testimonial right on HubPages every time I log in that talks about Google Juice. Sites that will publish your content for you want to be unique otherwise it dilutes their Google juice online so do yourself a favour and take the time to bring something unique to the table when posting online.  While a little bit of regurgitation could save you time and effort, if you don’t provide enough value to the reader and take the time to put effort into your off-page SEO efforts you won’t get much out of them.

Have a most outstanding day.

Hi Sean,

Are the article content spinners a white hat practice? I think that they aren’t but just wondering if you think they’re okay to use.

Also, I agree with the need to create unique content. I just have a problem with making it interesting and attention grabbing.

I have looked at content spinners before. It’s not as straight forward as it sounds. If you struggle writing you will also with these.

They work by changing around phrases and mixing them up. But you have to look at the phrases and rewrite them so it means the same thing but with different words. They don’t write the words for you. Unless they have got sophisticated.

Unique content is the thing that makes the Internet such a great resource, but filling it on an ongoing basis can be a challenge.

I have had a look at the content spinners but agree with Gee, it takes quite some practice to make them really work.

Unless you put a lot of time into spinning your articles, it will usually come out as poor quality reading. I would prefer to spend my time writing other articles personally.

Putting unique content up daily is certainly a challenge for me, but I guess we will all get better at it. That is why you suggest we talk about our passion so we have an unlimited content to write about.

You can turn that into a goal if you like Jackie. If writing becomes too much of a chore, or is too time consuming, then make it an aim to outsource as soon as revenue allows. That way you can then go on and focus on your other strengths

Hi Sean,
I guess unique content is important. I can understand why article directories wouldn’t want to receive repeat article content that was not unique. Wouldn’t want to dilute the Google Juice.

Ryan from HubPages appears to be very helpful with getting newbie’s started. I need to take advantage of this great tool very soon.

Hi Sean

I think creating unique content is a wonderful challenge. Even if it means getting to the point where you feel like pulling your hair out, you could write about that too as only you pull your hair out in a unique way!

As I haven’t been a ‘writer’ for long, I haven’t had to face the challenge of running out of things to write about. We are all unique in a sense and we all see things differently. I keep an indexed note book with me at all times and make sure I write in a one word topic every day.

I am really looking forward to getting into the writing. As an amateur writer I would say write your story from your uniqueness. Say it as only you would say it not the way you think people may want to hear it.

I was going to ask-

By unique do you mean your own, or one-of?

untill I read Elly’s post…….

Thanks Elly!

I used to write a lot, but I wrote fantasy. I never did finish the story line I started on one community site as that site closed down mid story. The only problem with that style of writing is that I doubt there is much call for it in internet marketing. I need to get used to writing in another genre.

Having just joined Hubpages the para on Maximizing Google Juice is a good reminder that not only does Hubpages et al want unique content – so does Google, so do most readers, and who can really build a reputation with regurgitated pap anyway?

Writing your own content is not just creative in relation to the topic being written, it becomes creative in an oblique way too as the mind gets further ideas for different topics/subjects at the same time – if you know what I mean.

I did use article spinner a few times when I first started, as I was told that is what everyone did and it was allowed, but now that I know better I do not use it at all.
I hope that doesn’t come back to bite me.

Unique content, which is fundamental to your online success, can be one of your biggest challenges as an Internet Marketer. How many times have you done a search only to find exactly the same content appearing on a multitude of sites?

So take the bull by the horns and be creative. If you have something to say, say it in your own unique and distinct style. Go ahead and research a topic all you want, but when you sit down to write, write from your head and your heart. Put those research notes out of sight and be yourself.

Another example of taking the time to get it right and not take the short cuts. Not everything has to be done at once and it is best to wait and make sure you are doing it correctly and writing your original content so there are no potential issues further downt the track,
