Making money online is most often done when you focus on a niche. You might have several areas of expertise or focus instead of just one and this is OK provided that you really learn your stuff and focus on getting knowledgeable in that area. Research and perseverance will ensure you’re maximising your profit earning potential. A niche will do better for you because you can get knowledgeable about a subject and your website will be better understood by the search engines who want to know how to categorise your site. Here are three tools to help you make the most of your efforts.
Keyword Research
Keyword research is really important in any niche and doing a bit of research can help you find popular and profitable niches. There are all kinds of tools online that are free and available for a fee that can help you learn about the popular online categories and keywords to focus on.
The above links can help you learn more about what’s being searched for so you can decide where to focus your efforts.
Knowledge=Power=$
Using tools to help you discover what people are looking and what types of searches are being done for a particular category help you learn to work those keywords into your content so that you’ll get picked up by the search engines for your targeted key phrases and increase your chances of getting clicks or making sales.
Have a most outstanding day.

Hi Sean,
I love using MS for all my keyword research. I find that it’s very effective and it saves me so much time. But, I prefer to use the Google Wonder Wheel and Google Insights for Search when I’m looking for more in-depth information about my niche.
Still, there are a lot of great tools out there and it’s just a matter of finding the ones that are most effective for you.
I haven’t looked at the wonder wheel yet. I must try it
I tend to rely on Ms and Adwords tool. So far it has worked out well. I will look at these and see what benefit they might give me
Same here Gee.
MS and the other free tools out there have been working great for now.
I think that Alexa.com is really only good if your site is ranked in the top 100,000.
Hi Sean
I always feel great excitement when I read articles like this, mainly because I really like the idea of building a niche and becoming an authority. For me it makes me want to study my subject matter more and research more. And I never stop coming up with ideas.
I also really like receiving links to extra helpful tools and learning to experiment with them. Discovery is such a lot of fun and so is creativity!.
Thankyou Sean.
I think one of the best keyword research tools available is Market Samurai. There is a trial version and a paid version. It runs under Adobe Air so is cross-platform. I run my copy under Linux. (Surprise, surprise.) There are plenty of tutorials to support it. Give it a whirl.
Have got the free version of market samurai but like everyone else have been using adwords keyword tools. google trends and google insights….thanks for another great blog post Sean \m/
Go for Market Samurai as they have free training videos, a seemingly endless amount, which you can watch over and over again.
From all accounts and what I read, Market Samurai is Boss when it comes to keyword research.
I am still learning how to use it properly, but I spend 4 hours once a week doing the tutorials.
Researching your niche extensively for competition and good keywords is crucial for success and profit in your niche. Taking the time to do good keyword research at the commencement of a project will pay off over being quick about it and wondering why you arent earning any money.
