Not all website traffic is created equally. Experienced internet marketers strive to bring targeted visitors to their website. The more you focus on people who are likely and ready to buy from you, the better your conversion rate and the lower your bounce rate.
Working on getting targeted website traffic is essential to your success, here are some tips..
Conversion Rate
Conversion equals the number of visitors that convert into a customer. Or, if your site is designed for list-building purposes, it could be the number of visitors that opt in to receiving future communications from you.
If five visitors out of a hundred convert, your conversion rate is 5%. A combo of high traffic levels AND high conversion rates is, of course, the ideal scenario.
Bounce Rate
A bounce happens when someone that lands on your website leaves without clicking further. A high bounce rate could be indicative of people not finding what they’re looking for on your site. If you have a high bounce rate it could be that either: your website isn’t attracting the right sort of visitors or, your website content is ineffective in terms of speaking to your target market.
Analysing your bounce rate can lead to reducing it and improving your click through rate. The deeper your visitor gets into your site, the more chances of them buying or opting in.
Tips For Attracting Targeted Website Traffic
1. Learn about your audience.
2. Motivate your audience.
3. Test and analyse your web traffic reports.
Learning about your audience can take time. Good strategies include: research to work out their buying patterns, keyword research, bidding on and using “buying” key phrases in your PPC and SEO strategy, making attractive value propositions, becoming a known and respected authority in your niche, and doing continuous research about the trends in your industry.
It’s also important to regularly study your website traffic reports so you can learn about the habits and trends of your visitors. Information contained in those reports will give you a lot of insight into how you’re doing with your traffic and how convincing your sales copy is.
Another smart strategy in terms of gaining targeted website traffic that will have high conversion rates, includes learning about your competitors. By analysing the companies that are successful at selling in your niche, you can work to become even more appealing to the market by delivering more value and providing excellent customer service.
Have a most outstanding day.

Hi Sean,
I agree with you. You can find all information mentioned in the post from having a good command of Google Analytics. It took me a while to make sense of the jargons of Google Analytics and making sense of the data presented, but once I did, it’s just amazing.
Google Analytics is certainly a fantastic tool for keeping up with your stats Ben. Like you say, it can be a bit daunting at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s something you won’t be able to do without
Hi Sean,
Using Google Analytics to glean information about your traffic stats, is a powerful tool to have at your disposal.
When starting out, its all about increasing your traffic, but the more I progress, my focus is shifting to finer details, like bounce rate, pages per view and now converting my traffic. Which essentially is giving the reader what they want…
The more I use and understand about how to configure Google Analytics, the more information I realize I can use to improve my performance…
You can even configure GA to email you weekly reports… got to be happy with that
You’re on the ball there Cade. Website traffic stats are important, but what you do with those stats is even more important
