Pay per click campaigns can be a good way to get more traffic to your website, if you are looking to increase your sales and make more money. But it is essential that you don’t just jump into it without doing your homework first, because if you do that you could find you are left with a debt to pay instead of new sales to enjoy.
Pay per click campaigns should always be thoroughly researched before you start. Ask yourself what you want to achieve by spending money on your business in this way.
Think about who you will be competing with as well, because the keywords you pick could make all the difference between success and failure.
Less popular Keywords
Don’t forget that in pay per click campaigns you will be paying an amount for each keyword depending on who else wants that same keyword. If you have a budget of a hundred dollars to spend and you choose a generic but popular keyword that generates a top bid of twenty dollars, then your Google Adwords money isn’t going to go very far. What’s more your results aren’t exactly going to be the ones you’d hoped for.
Concentrate instead on basing your pay per click campaigns on keywords that aren’t as popular, yet will still bring in the kind of visitors you want – the kind that are ready to buy something before they even reach your site.
Which Keywords Bring Results
This is why it is essential to be absolutely clear about the focus of your pay per click campaigns before you get started. Set a budget and work out how far it will stretch. Find out which keywords are the best ones to use by experimenting and seeing which ones bring the best results for the amount of money they cost.
If you do your research you’ll find that your pay per click campaigns bring in far better results than you thought possible.
Have a most outstanding day.

I’m still wary about using PPC. You hear about people losing their shirts through it.
Is there any really good resources where I can learn how it works? Someone you trust.
Hi Sean,
I am really wanting to start running a pay per click campaign. I’m still trying to learn as much as I can before I jump in. I’m really thinking about setting aside a set amount each week over say a three month period. I think that would be long enough to see some results. Do you agree?
I hear about the virtues of PPC advertising and I can see how it coould be a great way to monetise my blog.
As a beginner though, I haven’t thoroughly tested what you have suggested here so I would need to sit down and work out a plan and do whatever I can to attract more SEO and utilise keyword research.
When I am getting traffic I would then think about doing a PPC campaign.
