Thirty minutes of focused time each and every day could make a huge impact on your Online Success. Many new marketers who market part time feel like they’re being pulled in multiple directions. They don’t know where to dedicate their time. If you spend a focused thirty minutes a day researching your niche and marketing for your site, you could soon be very successful.
Some people spend a big chunk of time each day working on their internet marketing program and still don’t see results. But for some, they’re not focused and they get easily distracted.
Focusing your time isn’t always easy when the internet is so fast paced that by design it takes your mind in a dozen different directions. Close all the tabs except for what you’re planning to focus on. For thirty minutes, DON’T multitask.
What If I Don’t Have 30 Minutes
Stop and consider this. Just the length of time it takes to watch a repeat sitcom that you’ve already seen could be the key to your Online Success. Most people watch mindless TV for at least thirty minutes every day. Surely, you could give up thirty minutes so that you can be more profitable and have more time to watch reruns of Friends later, couldn’t you?
Set a timer and go! It’s as simple as that. Don’t be tempted by shiny things that try to take you away from your task. Don’t check email during that thirty minutes. Close your door if you have one.
You can vary your routine but here are some great things you could do to with your time on a rotating basis:
• Search through Google blogsearch and read up on your niche. Subscribe to blogs that provide you with valuable information.
• Analyse your competitors’ websites to see what they’re doing to capture market share.
• Search for your niche on search.twitter.com with the #hashtag and see what people are saying. If they look like potential customers or mentors, follow them.
• Write a blog post and social bookmark it.
• Write an article and submit it to ezinearticles.
• Add to your autoresponder series.
• Work on a weekly newsletter to submit to your email marketing list.
• Check your website statistics. This will tell you a lot about your traffic, where it’s coming from, and what people do when they get to your site. It can help you plan future marketing campaigns and show you which pages on your site might need to be tweaked.
• If you’re an affiliate, check out the news section of your product’s website for new affiliate marketing tips, articles, and creatives that may be available for download.
You might not be able to squeeze all these tasks in every day but if you spend at least 30 focused minutes learning more about how to be a better internet marketer, your Online Success is bound to follow.
Have a most outstanding day.

Friends! HAHA funny you mention that show. That has pulled me away from SEO work the last couple of weeks even though I have already seen basically every episode. They are just too funny! On a serious note, to stay focused and on track, I have set up a weekly template which outlines SEO tasks that need to be done by the end of the week. I draw up the templates at the start of every week and use it as a guide and it really does help me stay on track. I agree with 30 minutes per day but I usually spend more time. If you miss a day here and there things will start to pile up and you just don’t complete the tasks by end of week. I have done it before and it’s annoying when set out tasks are not done. Agree NO EMAILS, NO TV, NO MSN etc
Hi Bill,
Sounds like you have got a great plan of attack happening there mate. Everyone has a different plan and different amounts of time available, but the main thing is to have some sort of customised strategy and stick to it.

30 minutes a day is not hard to find, it’s just making sure you use it for SEO.
Thanks for the reminder Sean

Hi Tania,
You are right, 30 minutes is not a long time and it will help you to achieve good search engine rankings with persistence. Obviously, the more time spent, the faster the results but that’s a personal choice.
Regards – Sean
Great advice Sean for any budding marketer
Now, do I sure know what this blog post is talking about – being pulled in multiple directions! The multi-task thing is a real killer. We women might be good at it generally, but online, forget it. The internet knows how to suck your time better than anything in this world… Great tip to just focus on the one thing for a chunk of time.
No Home & Away mentions in this blog post, Sean?
No home and away, what was I thinking
. It’s amazing how fast time flies online, we all need to utilise this time to the best of our ability.
Hi Sean,
I’m normally pretty good in this area. However my regular routine will need a re-shuffle soon as the more I read your blog the more new things I find I need to do.
The only problem I have at the moment is that I’m still learning to do things and sometimes it can take me longer than I first anticipated. I think the more familiar I become with the tasks I need to do; the quicker I will be able to do them.
wow…yeah…this has me written all over it :s. I should get my act together when it comes to putting all my ideas into action. Procrastination…gets me every time….
Hi Sean,
I have noted these tips and will write them up in my internet marketing program to include them. At this rate I will have no excuses for not being 30 Minutes Away From Online Success.
I’m very confident I will find the necessary 30 minutes a day to complete this task…even if it means giving up watching the Bold And The Beautiful each day.
