Facebook has become one of the most popular social media websites online. What started out as a way for students to talk to one another is now something that’s used by all age groups and all social statuses.
Facebook has become a verb, for heaven’s sakes! “I Facebook’d you”. Certainly, with an audience so vast and large there are ways to capitalise on Facebook marketing, right? Right!
There’s Facebook fan pages, Facebook advertising, Facebook applications, and other aspects that you can take advantage of to help you expand your marketing reach. Here are some tips to help you get the most out of Facebook for your internet marketing efforts.
Facebook Marketing Tips
• Befriend people. The more followers you have, the more likely you’ll make great connections.
• Talk to others. One of the best ways to get people interested in what you’re doing, is by being interested in them and their updates. Giving a thumbs up to someone may get you one in return and if their settings are public, their stream will be made aware of your updates as well.
• Post interesting updates. Don’t make all your updates self-serving but do make sure you do use your status update field to share links and useful information.
• Use the tools Facebook makes available. Use groups, write on the forum attached to your group, post status updates often, take advantage of targeted Facebook advertising. Don’t forget to fill out your profile and add links to your sites, etc. People will read those links and so may the search engines!
• Targeting the people who are your target demographic through advertising works great. Try also recruiting people from outside Facebook to come to your Facebook page and befriend you. That way, you’ll have access to their news updates field and every update you post has the potential to be seen.
Recruiting Facebook Friends Outside Of Facebook
Finding friends on Facebook isn’t as easy as it is on some other sites, so it’s a good idea to recruit people from other tools as well.
Add your details in your communications. Add your Facebook URL to blog posts, articles that you submit to article marketing sites, to your Twitter updates, and other social bookmarking sites as well.
As your Facebook audience grows, you can find new and useful ways to use the potentially powerful vehicle that Facebook marketing offers.

Sean:
Thanks for the Facebook tips. I have pretty much stopped using Facebook but only because I do not have enough thim in the day anymore.
Maybe I should get back into it and apply your tips and see what happens.
Thanks again!

I guess you can only fit so much into each day Rick
. In saying that, if you are using any form of social media marketing, Facebook is definitely one of the big guns I would recommend.
One of the hottest trends in FaceBook Marketing today is custom landing pages. You can create a personal fan page and insert an HTML page in it, which will be shown to your visitors by default.. and there are really cheap FaceBook templates that are created specially for FaceBook fan pages.. Hi Sean,
I know Facebook is successful for people marketing because so many are using it. It’s something I can look into further later on and now I have more knowledge thanks to this article.
Taking advantage of targeted Facebook advertising sounds handy if I had a niche product and if I did my research and knew my target market well before spending any money on advertising.
Hi Sean, I’m actually using Facebook Pages to promote my blog. But I think I can further enhance my Facebook marketing via implementing what you said on your articles.
Thanks
