I really enjoy working with video and it is going to be one of the key tools I will be using to market with. Next year I will be assisting in making films and I am sure I will learn a lot more.

I really like to watch videos on websites and youtube but did I read somewhere that having a video on your blog can slow the downloading speed?

I want to make lots of really funny videos that are also educational. I have a mile of ideas. Maybe you can star in one Jazz and get you over your shyness.

This is something which was suggested to me a few months ago to get good SEO and rank highly in Google for having done. However, I just havent done it as there have been way too many other things to do and as this is not an "in the face and my site will not function" one, it has just gone into the "it would be nice" pile.

I like the idea of doing pictures with a voice over for now!

Personally I have always been camera shy so this little gem of advice may have to be put into my 'place to the side' category for now. To clarify this means I will get to this but it will require time and a creative mindset on the day. There are ways around making videos informative and helpful without playing a staring role and that would be more my style when I venture down this path.

Making a good video can be a daunting task for the newbie. My main pieces of advice are:

1. Keep that camera steady. Use a tripod.
2. Make sure the scene is well lit.
3. Make sure the camera is in focus.
4. Know what you're going to say and do before you start. Have a storyboard and a script.
5. Don't be afraid to do retakes.
6. Edit before you post.

Just a few tips on making something that looks professional.
