I watched a video of yours last night in which you talked about your value being what is in your wallet. It really hit home (I had $3.35 - I went and counted straight away) and reading this post today has really added to the reflection. When we were at KMart today I eftposesd $200 out to feel better about myself!

I really enjoy reading your tips for customers to make them feel value and not to end the sale once the click has been made and the money transferred. It is those little differences which in the long run do pay off - even though initially when you do it you wonder why and hope that it is remembered.

Your success is proof that it does and your values do make you an attractive person to be around and listen to.

James happened to be going passed a customer's house one day and decided he might just call in to check her clock (recently repaired) was going okay.

A couple of days ago a relative of this lady called into the workshop with a clock saying the customer had been singing his praises and how nice he was to just drop in and check all okay etc etc.

The extra mile in over delivering definitely pays off and is a secret that can be applied to internet marketing as well.

This ties in well with the article on testimonials - which we can get if we do deliver what we promise and then add more - gratis, and without expectation.

I think the principle of under-promising and over-delivering is a good way to sum this up. The customer feels special, that you've gone the extra mile and will turn into a client.

This post sums up some of the others I have been reading this morning. Keeping true to your own honesty and ethics will ensure your path to success where others will fall by the wayside.

They may seem to be winning now but you will win in the long term.

The secrets to Internet Marketing success are essentially the same for all ventures where you interact with other people: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. And Sean has provided a nice list of tips to flesh out that concept.

I tip my hat to the epitome of ethical marketing, Sean Rasmussen.

But be warned, I'm still not giving up my black hat. :)
