If you’re interested in starting a new project or developing another online income stream, it can make sense to park or register domains now.
Here’s why:
- Someone else could register it by the time you get round to it if you don’t do it first!
- You can make money from it while it sits
Protecting The Domain
Those who have tried to register a domain name and seen that it’s already gone know how disheartening that can be. What is even worse than that is to know that a domain is available one day, not register it, and then check back a while later to see that someone else nabbed it!
Monetizing a Parked Domain
You can put a parked domain on an earning program and make money with it. You might not make a huge amount of cash with domain monetization and you could share those funds with a domain parking service if that’s what you choose to do and make advertising revenue while it sits.
This might not equate to much but you could luck out and make a tidy sum, too. Some internet marketers monetize with Google Adsense while they wait to decide what they’re going to do with the domain and others actively try to sell the domain.
Why else is domain parking a good idea?
In terms of testing a new niche, you can get analytical stats while the domain sits to help you see what people search for when they land on that page. This can help you strategise and plan your upcoming marketing strategy.
You could also buy domains that you believe will be popular and sell those names later on for a profit. Don’t be tempted to do domain squatting as that can expose you to future legal problems but if you do some niche research on new and up and coming niches you could find some great domains that will be in demand in the very near future.
Whether you’re looking to monetize a site or niche in the future or just want some online real estate as an investment, there are some great inexpensive options. Don’t forget to surf the net for domain name coupon codes as you can often save 20% or so off your registration fee.
Have a most outstanding day.

I have several domains that I am not using but are linked to a host. Would they still be able to be parked?
Hi Sean,
Again, so much I didn’t know. I didn’t know you can make money with parked domains. How can you use Google Adsense on a parked domain? Is this something you do only if you intend to sell it? Or, is there another reason?
I have only just started looking at domain names and have a total of 1 parked for future. I have only looked at names I think I might use in future personally, but buying names which have good traffic in that niche to sell later on is a great idea.
Interesting – I never thought about making money with a parked domain. Definitely is an interesting concept, especially if there is a great domain name that I am thinking about using later …
This is a very unusual idea. Parking your domain and renting it out is a new concept to me but I actually like it and I can see it’s merits.
Buying domain names that are prospective niche’s and parking them for a few years before selling them is also a great way to benefit. A great passive income idea.
