Should You Attend Internet Marketing Seminars?

Attending webinars and seminars about internet marketing is a great idea. Not only can you learn more about things you’re not currently knowledgeable on, but you can also do some serious networking that could result in new ventures and joint ventures.

As affiliate marketing and internet marketing increase in popularity major cities are starting to host more affiliate marketing events such as:

  • Affiliate Summit
  • Ad Tech
  • Commission Junction University
  • SMX – Search Marketing Expo
  • WebmasterWorld
  • BlogWorld
  • Smart Online Profit Systems
  • And more

There are dozens of events around the globe every year so whether you’re an Aussie internet marketer with experience, a dabbling marketer in Canada, or a newbie in the Philippines, you can find a lot of convention opportunities.

By attending events hosted by expert industry gurus and rubbing elbows with fellow internet marketers you can do a lot for your business including staying ahead of what’s hot so that you don’t miss out on groundbreaking techniques and opportunities in the industry.

Sure, these events often have items available that you can buy, but the hosts know that people need real value if they’ll consider buying a ticket next year so workshops and presentations are sure to be filled with cutting edge information.

Not many people in an internet marketer’s personal life can truly understand the excitement and passion in this business. One of the things about working from home that can be a bit on the negative side is the solitude. Meeting and greeting with others at these events can be exhilarating when you realise you are in the presence of people that truly understand your challenges and know what it meants to get excited about statistics and conversion rates.  And if you’ve not yet met with someone making a living doing the same thing you’re doing, you could be missing out on a great network and learning opportunity.

  1. Affiliate marketing seminars and events are considered as helpful tools for those involved in the industry and this should be taken seriously.

    Hi Sean,

This sounds like a great idea and it would be great to socialize with people I’m used to communicating with every day online.

Just have to make sure that you trust the people that are hosting these events. Hanging around forums will give you an idea what other people think of them

  4. I took the bull bu the horns and attended my first event on my own and came away full of hope and excited because I could see so many other like minded people gave me the courage to go on

  5. I was initially skeptical about attending these seminars as I thought it was just a way for the presenters to try and sell you things, but after going to my first one a few months ago, I now realise the value of not only attending but actually getting involved and even talking to other people! If you are serious about Internet Marketing, there is no reason not too attend a seminar!

  6. Hi Sean,
I attended my first marketing seminar in Feb 2009 and have been to a few since then. I’ve learned quit a bit and there’s still much I don’t know. Seminars are good for meeting like minded people, as you say.

Most important thing for me is that once I’m committed to stick with it and stay on track with a “whatever it takes attitude to succeed”.

During learning Affiliate Marketing I’ve had well meaning friends suggest other methods for similar results. Thing is though, they haven’t shown they have a proven track record that it works. Until then I will just plod along with the YOTA group and keep doing what I’m doing.
