Let me ask you a question. What happens to your internet marketing business when you go on vacation?
Does it tick over happily, making you just as much money as it does when you are there to watch it all working for you? Or does it grind to a halt while you’re having fun, waiting for you to come back home and get it all up and going again?
If answer number two applies, you need to put your internet marketing business on autopilot so that it becomes your ideal employee and carries on working for you even when you (the boss) are away. What you have at the moment is the virtual internet equivalent of the employee who stops working, sticks their feet up on their desk and starts shopping on eBay the minute you’ve gone away.
The Ideal Employee
What your internet marketing business needs is as many automated functions as possible. There are lots of ways you can do this. You can even get regular updated news on your website every day that you’re away by inserting an RSS feed to keep some of your content fresh. Make sure that everyone who sends you an email gets an automated response – even if it’s just to say you’re on vacation and will get back to them when you return.
Putting the Business on Autopilot
You don’t have to put your whole internet marketing business on autopilot straightaway. In fact it’s better to look at different aspects of it carefully, one at a time, to see whether you can improve it in any way, and have it perform certain functions without you having to be present.
If you can do this over time, you will find that the next time you go on vacation you don’t have to experience a dip in sales or in interest while you’re away. If your internet marketing business can cope without you, you just got a whole lot more free time to spend as you wish.
Have a most outstanding day.

Hi Sean,
This is great advice and something I’ll need to consider when I’m further down the road. Or, maybe I should be setting my business up like this as I go?
Sooner or later I’m going to want to have a holiday and I’ll need to have it worked out.
Sean
My business is just getting started so it isn’t the issue at the moment. However I do need to start automating what I can in a coordinated manner.
Any advice you can provide to help me achieve this will be very gratefully received.
