Breaking Up Your Blog Is Hard To Do

Yes, organizing your blog certainly can be time consuming, but it will also make your blog easier to negotiate when your visitors come to see what you have been writing about.

Easier To Read

bloggingIf you look at anyone who is out there blogging in the internet marketing business at the moment, who does even a half decent job, you will notice that they split it up into different sections, all headed in a certain way. For example, if their marketing blog is about internet marketing, they might have a section on traffic generation, another section on building a good website, another on attracting visitors, another on sales and marketing, and so on.

By doing this they can ensure that anyone visiting their internet marketing blog will immediately be able to go to the section they are most interested in, without having to worry about searching through loads of entries which they may have no interest in at all.

Breaking Up Your Blog

Breaking your blog up into sections also makes it easier to write a more rounded blog. Take the internet marketing example for instance. If you didn’t have those sections you might find you tend to write about traffic generation far more than you write about building a good website. Sales and marketing may hardly get a look in at all.

Whatever subject you write about, it’s probably fair to say that you will want to bring in visitors and generate sales for your internet marketing business. If this is the case then having a well rounded blog which appeals to everyone in that specific niche will help increase your sales and encourage more repeat visitors to interact with your internet marketing business.

So make the most of expanding your blog and look for ways to add new but relevant categories from time to time as well. You will benefit from it if you do.

Instead of Advertising Alone, Try Talking

What is one of the main activities you are always doing as the owner of an internet business, whether it’s large or small?

Put Yourself Out There

The answer is advertising and promoting. You are always trying to get people’s attention in some way. But how about just talking to people and getting yourself out there? How often do you do that?

Try TalkingIf you are like most internet business people, you have probably forgotten how to actually just chat with people, whether it’s as a member of an internet forum or via a social networking site. And yet it is one of the best ways of getting yourself out there and getting your name known.

And the funny thing is, once you start doing it, you will find that you start getting approached for advice by other people. ‘Oh I checked out your website,’ they’ll say. ‘What can you tell me about…’ and on it goes.

Benefit From Just Talking

I have found this quite an interesting situation to be in. It’s amazing how just chatting with people – even offline, and even about things other than your internet business – can lead to all kinds of interesting situations. Before you know it, you will find that people you don’t know will start asking you about all kinds of things relating to your internet business, and you won’t even have to make an effort to start selling things to them, since they will already know you, trust you and be aware of your presence.

That’s not to say you shouldn’t still be advertising online, of course. But your internet business may well fare better if you combine advertising with simply chatting with people and getting along with them.

So start making a name for yourself today. Think about how you could raise your profile and your internet business will benefit just the same as you will.

Getting In On Social Networking Exchanges

networkingYesterday we talked about online networking clubs. Today we’ll explore ways for you to get involved in these types of exchanges. You can benefit in many ways by networking with social marketing sites and by getting involved in exchanges, you help a fellow marketer and they help you by linking to your sites, commenting on your blogs and using social bookmarking and networking tools to spread the word about your online entrepreneurial efforts.

Join a Social Media Club

There are online clubs and sites devoted to social media where you might have to do an hour worth of activity a month to help others. For your participation, you’ll get to submit URLs of your online homes to the effort and have others participate and give you some link love.

Create Your Own Networking Group

If you don’t see a suitable club, consider starting your own. Check on Yahoo Groups or MSN Groups as well as on online forums to start a club and promote for membership in some of your favourite social media tools. If you want to get involved just for a particular item you want to promote consider posting in a webmaster forum such as Digital Point forums and offer a Stumble or Digg exchange where marketers will scratch one another’s proverbial backs.

When you first set up a new website it’s natural to do all you can to make sure as many people as possible see it. Over time you learn that a small amount of targeted traffic is better than a large amount of visitors from all directions – many of whom don’t have any interest in your site.

Streams of Targeted Traffic

Internet TrafficBut you can easily become a victim of your own success. When your efforts result in a steady stream of targeted traffic it’s all too easy to sit back and relax, watching that steady stream continuing to come in. That is fine, but why don’t you aim for the next level and try and find more streams of targeted traffic to add to it?

You probably already know that the more people you can get to visit your site who have an interest in what you want to sell, the more sales you will make. That much is obvious, and you’ll get a much higher conversion rate of visitors into sales than you will from a general audience, who mostly just sucks up your bandwidth each month.

Methods for Good Results

So think about what other methods you can use to find more targeted traffic. Which advertising methods can you use to get good results? Can you do things for free which don’t take much effort to get up and running? Even if you have to tweak them or do a little regular work every now and again to keep them working, it’s worth it if you get a lot of visitors in return who are genuinely interested in what you do.

However successful you are at the moment, targeted traffic can get you to the next level of online success. All you need to do is sit down and work out how you are going to get there.
