What’s Your Unique Selling Proposition?

Most people who want to make a lot of money online will find that there’s an awful lot of fierce competition out there already.  How do you capitalise on the ability to earn money through the internet? You need to set yourself apart from the rest. You need a USP (unique selling proposition). Sure, you could go ahead and sell something that’s already selling like hot cakes but you might only make mediocre earnings because businesses like yours are a dime a dozen.  Things that are unique can take a bit more work to launch but the results could be that you could make a huge difference in your own success levels.

USP - Unique Selling Proposition

Whether it’s the product that you sell, the type of business you have or the customer experience that’s unique, finding a unique selling proposition can make your online business the next great thing.  How do you set yourself apart?

  • Research.  Figure out what people want.
  • Solve a problem. Figure out how to make someone’s life better.
  • Provide value.  Give people something valuable.  The perceived value has to be greater than the cost.

Great businesses aren’t built over night so even if you do hop on some other band wagon to get your feet wet and learn,  if you take the time to find or create a great solution for your customers, you can definitely stand apart in the crowd of competitors in your niche.

Take a minute to step back and think about your internet business for a moment. Are you still enjoying it? Does it make you look forward to getting onto your computer and seeing how much money you made during the night?

Change your perspective

Make Money OnlineOr have you been lacking in that excitement of late? If you have, then now is the time to do something about it.

Just because you have chosen to get involved in an internet business under your own steam, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you won’t go through phases of feeling a little bogged down and bored with what you are doing.

The Great News

The great news is that you can change things under your own steam as well – you don’t have to wait for a boss to come along and give you permission. To begin with, think about what it is you are bored with. All internet businesses have some dull aspects – like keeping records for example. There’s isn’t much you can do about that, although you can at least break it down into small and manageable chunks to do every now and again, rather than putting it all off until it becomes unmanageable.

By identifying what part of your internet business now seems like it involves too much effort, you can take steps to do something about it. If you’ve been slogging away trying to promote a new product for three months and you are beginning to dread doing it again, then don’t do it. Drop it and move on to something else.

The whole idea of having your own internet business is that you are able to enjoy making money, especially if it’s now your full time occupation. So don’t fall into old habits of settling for something you don’t like – shake it up instead!

legitimate onlineOf course you shouldn’t read everything you read, right? This is especially true in internet marketing.  There is a lot of good information out there but quite a lot of misinformation is out there as well.  People fake their ClickBank earnings to sell you a product, people have their ‘friends’ or professionals write testimonials for them and people online are occasionally out to scam others.  But, not all internet marketers are painted with the same brush. In fact, most people working online are looking to make an honest dollar and enjoy what they do. Many are just like you and are considering the law of attraction and karma and paying it forward in the way they conduct their lives.  The benefit of the doubt should be the case when dealing with your loved ones but when dealing with strangers, it is wise to do your due diligence.

Tips for Checking Out The Integrity of a Person or Program Online

The great thing about the Internet is that you can find stuff out quite easily.  Behind  the rhetoric you’ll find most people are fairly transparent.  Here are some places to check to find out if someone is for real or a program really will do what it says:

  • Rip-off or scam report sites:  Like it says, it talks about rip-offs.  Be careful though…not everything on the list is truly a ripoff. Disgruntled customers aren’t always right although finding more than one piece of evidence saying someone or something is a scam is worth paying some attention to.
  • Consumer review websites: If you’re planning on buying a program, there are bound to be reviews about it. Some will have affiliate links so look for a review site that offers more than just a glowing review about everything listed on the site.
  • Community forums.  If you’re buying a product for website design, check webmaster forums and if you’re buying something that has to do with affiliate sales, check out an affiliate marketing forum. Chances are, there will be information listed or you can ask a question about something specifically.

With anything that requires an investment of time or money, just do some due diligence research before taking the plunge and you’ll typically make the right decision in the end.

You wouldn’t think that a simple little thing like spelling could get in the way of building a successful internet business that satisfies plenty of customers every single week would you?

And yet that is exactly what is happening to lots of internet businesses all over the world – and the sad thing is that a lot of them don’t even realise it. Many who start a business, don’t get very far.

Spelling is a measure of how well we can perform as people. When we build an internet business we hope that people will come and view it and eventually buy items from us.

First Reactions = Sink or Swim, Success or Failure

Internet Marketing ABCBut what is your first reaction if you visit the website of an internet business and you find the spelling to be rather bad? The chances are your reaction would be the same as mine – you would wonder what else they might be getting wrong if they can’t even get their spelling right.

Of course we aren’t talking about regional or national variations in the spellings of certain words here – that doesn’t count. What we’re talking about are internet businesses with websites that are peppered with spelling mistakes all over the place. It simply doesn’t look good and it doesn’t look professional.

Get Someone to Check

In reality most people know if their spelling isn’t too good. If you fall into that category and you know that you can’t really trust your own spelling, then get someone who is good at it to check it for you before launching it onto your website. Don’t trust the spellcheck function on your computer, since it often won’t pick up misspelled words that are the same as other words – your instead of you’re, for example.

Your internet business should look the best it possibly can. It should be presentable, correct and as professional as possible, since all of these inspire trust.

And that is exactly what you want people to be able to do – trust in you.
