GravatarHere’s a quick video on How To Get A Gravatar. I see many people comment on blogs without any type of Avatar, so I hope this video will help persuade more blog commenters to sign up for Gravatar (a free service) and put a face to their name :)

Hi Sean

I would prefer you to include this blog in the competition as well

I need all the help I can get to try to catch Jazz

Haha. Poor Jazz. The hunt is on.

Sean it would be a privilege to comment on your blog Sean seo .com

Hi Sean,
Gravatar is there, tks for the video.
Regarding the competition I think we need the second website, otherwise front runner Jazz will be stopped in her tracks, which wouldn’t be fair.
So – let’s add this site. Also it means we will read up on Internet Marketing :)

Hi Man With No Name, let’s see what Jazz is made of. Bring it on!

Jazz seems to be a target. targets are also known as “Goals”. ;)

8 Gee March 19, 2010 at 2:21 am

Yeah my goal is very definite for the next little while… until about June

Hello Sean,

Please count my vote as Yes. With opening and including this site we are able to learn more about the internet and the competition heats up.

Thanks
Lisa

Sean

Please do include seanseo.com in the comment competition. I will get busy tonight and try to find some relevant and interesting things to comment on.

Reply

11 Sean Rasmussen March 18, 2010 at 10:21 pm

I can see you have been busy already Dobbs. Nice Gravatar, by the way!

Reply

12 Cade March 18, 2010 at 6:54 pm

Thanks for the Gravatar Video, Sean.
Your right it makes it much easier to identify other commenters.
I think we should add this site to the competition, I have been wanting to get back and read some more articles from this site, but have been to busy with everything else.
So it would be ideal way to combine the two, and learn more about Internet Marketing.
Great Webinar too, by the way.

Sean,

I know there already has been an event in Brisbane. I took a look at the schedule and I noticed one for July. Is that correct?

Reply

15 Sean Rasmussen March 19, 2010 at 8:39 am

If the schedules says so, there is one then. I am not guaranteed to be there though.

Identifying people with Gravatars is really nice, from the point of views of both parties.

I would be happy to have SeanSeo included in the competition. There is such a wealth of knowledge in this blog, and I know I can only benefit when perusing and studying the posts.

Reply

17 Samantha Banfield March 21, 2010 at 10:23 pm

It sure is Jo. It’s nice to see everyone’s gorgeous face! And you are gorgeous!

Hi Sean,

Yes, please include this blog in the competition. I’ve learned so much from seanrasmussen.com that would have taken me a lot longer to learn without the competition.

If reading and commenting on this blog will do for my Internet Marketing knowledge what your Mindset Mastery series has done for my mindset; I am going to be a very happy Internet Marketer.

19 Wal Heinrich March 18, 2010 at 7:38 pm

Jazz, you are remarkable. Not only have you posted so many comments, I have read a lot of them and they are genuinely high quality comments. It looks like the vote is unanimous so far so I expect you will get your wish and we will be enjoying seeing your comments on this blog in the very near future.

Reply

20 Renee March 18, 2010 at 8:16 pm

I agree – Jazz is setting the bar very very high for all of us, not only in regards to the number of comments she places but also the quality. Even if I would come 2nd (which I will not ;) ) I would graciously admit that Jazz is brilliant :)

Totally agree with you Wal.

Jazz has set the bar pretty high

Just one word of advice, Jazz, you are not getting any backlinks to a blog. Sean’s sites provide high quality, high value backlinks. You might benefit from pausing for a day or 2 while you get a blog organized that you can refer to in your comments.

Reply

26 Sean Rasmussen March 19, 2010 at 12:31 pm

If the back links don’t work in commentluv, it is 99% likely to be your RSS feed that is faulty. It is worth having a check.

If your name is not linked, it’s because the URL area hasn’t been filled out when subbing a comment.

Nah forget that last bit. I’ll never get any sleep!

Reply

33 Renee March 22, 2010 at 11:05 am

Does Sean have enough blogs to support that until end of the year? Let me think – 200 comments per day, times approx 200 … Outch, I think that is hard to handle. I am not sure if Sean has that many posts. But we can go back and comment on the comment of others as well :)

Nothing like some good ‘ol, friendly, healthy competition to get people going… Thanks Sean for the gravatar tip. Something I learned in YOTA forum early on. So simple, but makes a big difference. By the way, no CommentLuv in here?

Reply

Ok, so I browsed on over to seanseo today for my daily fix of Internet Marketing news. I scrolled down the homepage a little and what do I see – a top commentators widget in the sidebar.

I guess sometimes you need to give the people what they want hey Sean ;)

You’re such a good teacher, how could we not miss on getting it right?

For the record: I do also approve of, the idea to include the seanseo.com blogs in the comments competition. It’s also a great opportunity to catch up on any readings I may have missed out on in this excellent series, for learning. Especially SEO learning.

I love Gravatar. So easy to use. And what’s even better I love my Gravatar! My silly face – being so silly. I have my constant companion on my shoulder. His name is Blue Dude and he is itching to write a blog post… he got a big head after a photo of him featured on a blog post!

When my Gravatar picture was taken, Blue Dude refused to cooperate & as seen in the pic we are not talking!

Soooo in conclusion, Gravatar is dang fantastic as you can display your unique personality for the world to see.

Reply

42 Renee March 22, 2010 at 11:11 am

Maybe Blue Dude needs his own blog if he is so keen? Might get some fans for him …

Reply

43 Lina Nguyen March 24, 2010 at 4:09 pm

Oh, so THAT’S who Blue Dude is!!! (Is everyone else as confused as I was?)

Hello Sean,

Not sure what is going on because I have used an image and downloaded it with Gravatar. I have been back to check that my correct details of email address and picture are correct, and yet my image is not showing? Very interesting. Will have to see what I can do so that my photo is there instead of the “g” image!!

Cheers
Lisa

gravatar is so easy!!.. the only issue i have is that the email i use with my facebook account is different from the on i will use in my gravatar!.. reason being is that i use this current one in gravatar for strictly business whereas the one thats for the facebook account is filled with notifications and so on.. which i hardly ever read… anyway i just hope that wont be a problem .. im not worried about anyone else winning!. once we complete this webinar at our highest standard and to the best of our ability.. we’ve already won!! :) right guys?

The first time I ever heard about a gravatar was from you Sean! In fact, I don’t think I’ve learned about Gravatars from anyone else and I’ve always wondered how people got a picture next to their comments. So here goes my first post with my gravatar next to it! I guess we could call this a test! Here goes!
Thanks Sean

Hi Sean
Have made my Gravatar (have always wondered about peoples faces/avatars in blogs) – no photos of myself at this point in time on my computer – I always seem to be the one behind the camera taking them :-) and the web cam wont take a very flattering photo at this time of night (hehehehe). Question….I obviously do need to put my face out there and not be embarrased by myself :-) – when I take my new photo and change the default in Gravatar – will it change this one – I can just wait and see of course when I do make the change. :-)
Thanks

63 Sean Rasmussen June 16, 2010 at 11:57 am

Reply

There are no concrete rules Tess, do what you are comfortable with :-) Something to consider is that many people can relate better to a personal photo, up to you ;-)
