If you are interested in an Affiliate Marketing network with a proven company as your partner, Commission Junction is a great option with plenty of tools and resources for those looking to make money via affiliate marketing.
About Commission Junction
Started in 1998, Commission Junction is a global company that does business online with publishers and advertisers as an affiliate network. In other words, they manage a large Affiliate Program from a central location and allow you to choose which programs you’d like to apply to.
According to the firm, their publishers are actually the independent affiliate marketers, who agree to display advertisements for products and services on their websites in exchange for a commission on sales clicked through from their pages.
The advertisers are those parties who offer products or services for sale over the internet. Advertisers are screened by Commission Junction. They must prove a minimum monthly transaction amount or pay a fee. The company allows advertisers to develop banners, text links, or product links to be utilised by publishers to gain click throughs to their offerings.
What makes Commission Junction different from other companies offering an affiliate partnership is their CJ Marketplace. This refers to an online page whereby advertisers and publishers can easily find the performance metrics of their products. They are able to access both network earnings and the average earnings per hundred clicks.
Affiliate Network Specifics
With Commission Junction, the publishers, or affiliates, can promote advertisers who offer not only products, but subscriptions, sales leads, and filling out surveys or forms. Publishers are paid on any action specified by the advertiser and clicked through from their URL.
To get started, the publisher must first establish a free account. They then have the opportunity to visit the CJ Marketplace and search for advertisers with whom they want to partner. There is an online resource in the marketplace which presents strategic advice and special offers from advertisers.
Commission Junction outlines a publisher code of conduct, to which all affiliates must adhere. In order to remain active, publishers must maintain a certain level of activity tracked over a six month period.
Those affiliates who are designated as top performers also get access to various benefits, including a higher commission. They are referred to as CJ Performers and given a personal account manager as well as comprehensive support options.
Getting Your Affiliate Commission Payments
Payment for commissions comes from the advertisers, but is processed through Commission Junction. The CJ Marketplace is the place to go keep track of monies earned. The commission rate varies by advertiser. There is a minimum amount you must earn before you can request a payout, which is in the form of a check mailed to your address.
Commission Junction is just one more company that offers an Affiliate Program for anyone wanting to monetise their website. They offer some excellent features that other companies do not, such as the CJ Marketplace and online advice, but the minimum amount earned requirement may be considered a detriment to some affiliate marketers.
They do present millions of products and a large variety of vendors to partner with. As with any Affiliate Program, make sure you are able to find products and services that fit well with the focus of your web pages in order to be successful with Commission Junction.
One of the benefits of dealing with a network like CJ is that you don’t have to reach minimum payment milestones with several companies and you also don’t have to worry about small affiliate programs not paying on time because CJ manages the collection process in exchange for a fee.
Have a most outstanding day.

CJ look like a good program to join. If the benefits to receive commission before it reach minimum payment is true, it will help us a lot as most people knows, not everyone manage to collect 5 figure income online.
Thanks for this information. I have used several different networks but I always ignored CJ for some reason. I will have to take another look.
Great information. I have done a bit of Click Banks affiliate programs. I think I will add CJ to what I am already doing.
Hi Sean,
I have had a look on CJ and they do have so many products.
Finding the right one does take time but is worth it in the long run. It’s quite good that they mail a cheque to your address when commissions are earned.
Sean
Thanks for the info.
Have you had experience with CJ?
Do their advertisers look for website owners with high levels of traffic?
Hello Sean,
I was not aware of Commission Juniction? Will need to add it to my list of “To Do ASAP”!!! It sounds like another great avenue to branch into for Affiliate Marketing. Wonder how much its like Amazon in their products and pricing? Will have to head on over and check it all out.
Cheers
Lisa
Hi Sean,
I like the look of Commission Junction and they do have a lot of great products from some very well known global companies. I need to spend more time looking at the performance metrics to assess the products before I try them. Sometimes it can be a little confusing.
Hi Sean
I have looked at Commission Junction and have always thought of the possibilites of marketing some of their products.
I am even considering putting my own Ebook on there to sell as it is a way of marketing it other than through my blog.
I am wondering if this is one of the places that will be suggested for finding products for our LCM’s?
