The Basics of ClickBank

in Affiliate Marketing

ClickbankClickBank, a company that was originally founded back in 1998, started selling digital products in the form of software, ebooks, subscriptions, and memberships to consumers around the world. They now advertise that they work with over 100,000 partners to offer their products.

According to ClickBank, they are one of the largest internet businesses globally. They claim that once every four seconds there is a consumer somewhere in the world buying one of their products and their sales are in excess of $200 million. They continue to experience exponential sales growth, which in turn attracts more and more affiliates.

ClickBank’s primary customers are publishers of software, ebooks, or other similar materials. Sales are made to consumers who cannot find what they are looking for in traditional venues, such as a bricks and mortar store. The company serves as an intermediary between the two parties, with affiliates driving traffic.

How It Works

A vendor offering their product through ClickBank needs to enter into a contract with the company to sell their items, pay a fee and submit it for review. After approval, the product is featured in their marketplace and any number of affiliates can begin promoting that product in order to earn a commission from sales made.

A customer who finds the product on the internet is directed to the publisher’s site and ClickBank takes care of the transaction’s payment specifics. Both the publisher and the affiliate who referred the customer are paid based on the sale amount.

ClickBank’s Affiliate Marketing Program

The affiliate marketing program available through ClickBank works much the same way as it does with other companies. The affiliate partner features any number of products available through ClickBank on their own website, and does their best to drive qualified visitors, who will be apt to buy the product.

A commission is made on every customer who clicks through to the ClickBank purchase screen from an affiliate’s URL. Your URL contains an embedded hoplink that allows ClickBank to track the commission back to your account and you can check on your commissions through your account profile on their website.

Setting up an affiliate account is free of charge. Partners with an account have the opportunity to search through ClickBank’s website listing in order to find the most relevant products to promote on their own pages.

You may want to take a moment and check out the possibility of creating a ClickBank account to allow you to further monetise your website. There are a lot of ways to promote ClickBank products and you could find yourself making multiple streams of passive income because adding a banner to your site or writing a product review that contains your ClickBank hoplink could bring you repeated sales on a regular basis for the foreseeable future.

Have a most outstanding day.

Hello Sean,

I have been to Clickbank many times, and had a look at all their amazing products to promote and sell. I have yet to use it because I was really lost for a “niche”. Now that we have a niche, are in the process of having the “Product” created, and the website in the pipelines I will be back to Clickbank for sure. The possibilities are endless with the internet. Thanks for Teaching us so very handy hints.

Cheers
Lisa

I just need to get my touche to Clickbank & find a product to start with. Your post was easy enough for my non-tech brain to follow so I will give it a shot!

I just wonder what type of comedy products they may have. It’s gotta be worthwhile & not dodgy!!

Hi Sean,

There are so many Clickbank products across so many categories. I’m still having trouble with those elusive sales, but it shouldn’t be long now. I think one of the best things about Clickbank is that you have the added security of using PayPal.

Hi Sean

Clickbank is great isn’t it. I joined up some time ago when I first started in the YOTA forum. I had ideas then but needed to learn to write content and set up a blog so I didn’t do anymore about it.

Now that I have a couple of niche’s plus an affiliate product and learning to set up profitable LCM’s, it will be like going Christmas shopping all over again. I am having fun here thanks to your success Sean.
